How long have

my first trip was when my Grandmother took us in 73 to the Polyn, my next trip is this May to SSR.

however I also stay off site as well!

13 nights/ 14 days had a blast!! then again my average is 11 nights/ 12 days :sunny:

We were there for 3 weeks last summer, but I have already booked 7 weeks for this summer. I think I counted like 51 nights. I must be the opposite of the snowbirds because I go with the kids and they are in school in the winter. Summer is for us at Ft. Wilderness!

This will be our longest trip 15 nights at GF and 2 nights at Nick Hotel. Last year we were there for 11 nights - 8 at GF and 3 at HRH, year before 7 nights at GF. We keep making it longer and longer. People think we're nuts. They think once you've seen the MK and maybe EPcot what else is there to do? If they only knew . . .

Did you stay on property? Did you get a better rate because you stayed for that length of time? I was thinking of staying for about 8 weeks. :sunny: :flower: :earsgirl: :sunny: :flower:

Nanatink,

I stayed at Ft. Wilderness Campground. We have a large family, five kids still go camping with us, so it was cheaper to buy a travel trailer instead of renting 2 value resort rooms. Also, I can feed everyone at the camper. I hit the Winn Dixie about once a week to stock up on food. Disney did not give me a cheaper rate due to the length, but with the ap rate, I was paying $35.00 a night. I think I spent more money at the comfort station washing and drying clothes for everyone twice a week than I did for the site  . Next year we will have a fifth wheel with a washer/dryer in it, so it will be even cheaper. I think there is no better place to entertain kids that are 10 and under. My best friend has actually bought a travel trailer (one trip and she was hooked) and has booked the first 2 weeks I will be there and will be camping with her family. I think her husband is hooked also :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: .

DS & I will be going to our longest vacation ever anywhere
5 nights at Pop, 3 nights at WL and then 6 nights at Beach Club Villas = 14 nights total

We stayed 9 nights WL in 01
9 nights PO/FQ in 02
and 8 nights VWL/CB in 04

Thanks for your quick reply. We have considered all possible options. Travel trailers, house rentals, on site at the value, and purchasing a home. DH will be retiring soon. I love Florida and Disney. A travel trailer might be just what we could use. :flower: :sunny: :flower: :sunny:

I have only been 4 times in my life, and all 4 were on-property. I grew up this way, so I can't imagine NOT staying on-site. First trip was in 1977, we stayed in the Poly. Next 2 trips (1983, 1986) were Ft. Wilderness trips (tent camping). In 1992 I returned once again to the Poly.

Our upcoming trip in 2006 we are trying to decide where to stay. I am partial obviously to the Poly (and all MK resorts) but we're on a tight budget so we'll probably have to stay elsewhere. But rest assured, it WILL be on property. :cool1:

In our 19 trips, we've never stayed more than 6 nites. DH's job doesn't allow him to be gone for more than a week at a time. However, on our upcoming trip, I've figured out a way to stay much longer. Six nites with DH, then he leaves and I stay on solo for another 6-12 nites total. Can't wait to try it!

5nts./6days I could stay longer at a moderate or value resort, but for me going to DW is defined by staying at the Poly, it's a sentimental thing, our first trip was June of '72. I just love the place and can't imagine staying anywhere else, just a personal thing.

The longest I have stayed was 9 nights and that was this past year.

I have stayed as short as 4 and 5 nights but my average is 7.

Most trips 7 nights, I went solo for Spring break 04' and stayed 3 nights this trip was much too short!
