How long have your had your oldest and dearest friend?

I was talking to my best friend in the whole world tonight and she was saying how few people have great friends from grade and middle school. We have been friends for almost 27 years and although we live hundreds of miles apart we can always count on one another for anything. I have two such friends that I have know for 27-28 years that I am still close to, most of my other friends I have made as an adult. Just wondering how long you have known your oldest and dearest friend?

I met my oldest and dearest friend when we were 7 - that was ummmm..... a long time ago! And I know that we will always be in touch. We might as well be family.

I have 2 very, very close friends. The first one I have been friends with for 23 years and the second I have been friends with for 18 years. They are my 2 oldest and dearest friends.

Second BF for the same amount of time, third good friend since age 18, two most recent BFs (ones I would do anything for and they for me) for 14 years. These are my BFs who live close to me geographically, our kids play and etc. Also, our DHs like each other! Yayyy!

I have different groups of women I call friends but these 5 are the best.

I met my best friend as freshman in high school. We were part of a large group back then, but as we got out on our own became best friends. We live pretty far apart right now, but whenever anything happens, we know we are each person's first person to call. She is more like family than my own family is.


Her husband claims she talks to me in her sleep! We used to live very close to each other for many years, and now that I have moved away due to the Army, she tells me about her day in her sleep. ( I swear, I am not making this one up!)

I met her 10 years ago this month. We have taken vacations together and everything. I really enjoy being around her.

I have two people who I would consider my closest friends. I've known them both for about 10 years. Over the 6 years I attended boarding school, I had 3 roommates, one for all 6 years, one for 2 years, and one for only a term. My closest friend in the world is Sabine, who I spent 6 years sleeping under (not like that... bunk beds!) The other is Kelly, who we lived with for 3 years. Once you cry about being homesick, hold a persons hair as they are ill, and live the ups-and-downs of daily life, you are kinda attached for life.

Sabine now lives in France, but we talk daily, and Kelly lives in Suberban Cook County (about 20 miles away!).

I am in 8th grade and met my best friend in 1st. We are best friends even though we live over 10,000 miles apart.

We met at the beginning of our Freshman year.We will be turning 30 yrs old in Jan.(she is 8 hrs younger) so it has been 15 yrs.I don't know what I would do without her.

I've had my best friend for as long as I've been alive, 29 years. Our mothers are best friends and were pregnant with us at the same time. We are two months apart.

My oldest friend and I have known each other since we were in kindergarten.. yup that is correct.. that would be 42 years.. oh dear lord in heaven! We attended k-12 together.

Renee and I have remained very close over these years and we have been often separated by thousands of miles for many years at a time.
I just got off the phone with her an hour ago.. we giggled the entire time.
Last week we had dinner... it is a 500 mile round trip for me these days. Close enough to meet at least once a month.

I've know my oldest friend since we were born. I'm 42 and she's 41 so I've "known" her for 41 years! Our moms were lifelong friends (from when they were 10 until they met again in heaven). Our moms put us in the bathtub together

My DH is my very best friend but I've only known him for 35 years

I met my BF in 1980, when we were freshmen in HS. I hated her. I thought she was such a snob. Then, we met at an extra-curricular event and I found out that my first impression was completely wrong. We have been BFs since that event.

She is my youngest sister's Godmother. She is invited to all of my families' big events and I am invited to all of her families' reunions. Even our kids have asked us if we are sisters. I love her as much as I do my "blood" sisters.
