I found the DIS around September of 1998, as I was planning our our November 1998 trip to WDW. I posted under a different name then.

Back then, some of the regulars were Ahnalira, Jackie Nova Scotia, Brer Dragon, and a poster who used to do his trip reports from a sock puppet's point of view!

I've been DISing a long time. I remember when we were one board and had to click on each post to a thread to read that post. It took all day just to read one thread in that format, lol. I couldn't use my original username after one of the board glitches so I just came up with the creative username I have now and kept going.

Blondie, you must have not used that other name for very long, because I came in December of 1998, and you are one of the first posters I remember really reading and liking instantly.

BTW, the sock puppet was Harold, and the poster was Wilderness.

Loved Brer Dragon's Friday Faves! He's around, but has a different name, we need to recruit him back so he can do more Friday Faves with us!

Harold, was one of those marionnette type puppets, and actually belonged to wilderness' son. That wacky wilderness! He is now WebmasterBob.

And Dan is right, it was the "Around the World" tour that we did.

I have only been on the DIS for a little over a year, but I loved it as soon as I found it. I had recently moved from FL to Indianapolis. Went from a trip to WDW every couple of weeks, to no trips and I was in serious Disney withdrawal. The DIS provided me with some much needed disney in my day!!! Before this I had belong to another travel message board, not disney related, but since finding the DIS I don't think I have ever been back to the other board!!!
