I have begun working on my itenerary for our September trip. We will be staying at POFQ. This is our first on-site stay so I am trying to get a feel for Disney transportation.

How long would you estimate that it would take to get from each park to POFQ using Disney transportation?

I have a 4 year old DS who gets very cranky if he doesn't get a nap. I was hoping to be able to get him back to the hotel for a nap in the afternoon while DH takes DD8 to the pool for a swim. I'm concerned about how much time this is going to take us out of the parks.

We do plan to be there for opening each day. I was planning on heading back to POFQ around 2:00 for naptime. I'd like for him to get at least 1 1/2 hour nap then head back to the park of the day. Do you think this will work?

(On our AK day-because of how early the park closes-, I plan to leave AK, go back for nap/swim around 3:00 and then catch Fantasmic at MGM that night.)

Thank you so much in advance for your insight!:teeth:

On average, I would say budget 20 to 30 minutes for travel "door to door." It's really hard to say because you might have to wait a bit for the bus sometimes and other times it's like it arrived just to take you back to the resort. The nice thing about POFQ is that you are first off when the bus is shared with POR (which is almost always).

Personally, I would try to have all 4 of you take a mid day nap. Your 8 yo (and certainly you and DH) will need the break as much as anyone. Then a quick, refreshing dip in the pool to get you ready for the evening's activities.

Also, if you're going to do early entry each day, you may very well be ready for that mid day break by 12:30 or 1:00. Don't be afraid to leave the parks that early. It will still be there when you are ready to go back.

Enjoy!

We stayed there in May, and the time frame the above poster gave you is correct - BUT, we sometimes waited 20 minutes for a bus to come, so it is really difficult to estimate. I just wouldn't count on a bus being ready for you when you get to the bus stop.

Agree with the other posts. Another good thing about FQ is that it is really close to EPCOT, MGM a little further to MK (not much).

AK is the farthest away - AK busses stop at Blizzard Beach on the way back. DD is pretty close too, but you do have to stop at Pleasure Island the Typhoon Lagoon.

We always go back to the resort for a rest - we are two adults. It's nice to get a break.

:p

One good point, in terms of expediency, is that on return trips to PO from the parks, the bus stops at POFQ first and then on to POR, thus making your return trips slightly quicker than your departure trips (which have to make the four stops at POR).

The only time we had real bus crowds was when we left a park at night following a show (Illuminations, Fantasmic, etc.) and there was the mass exodus out of the park.
