Anyone know how long it is of a ride from the BWI to MK via the bus? How about BWI to MK via the monorail thru Epcot?

Just curious. We go next week and it also says 60-70% scattered and thunderstorms.... Hoping its just the FL afternoon rain showers that pass!!

THANK YOU!!!

On the bus, it can be a while because depending on the overall crowd levels, they will stop @ other resorts.

Can be BWI, Swan/Dolphin. Sometimes it's BWI, Swan/Dolphin, Yacht, Beach. I would always allow an hour.

Walking would not save you any time. Say 20 minutes through Epcot, maybe 15. 15-20 over to the TTC from the Epcot monorail station. 15 from TTC to MK (you have to switch monorails). I'm guessing it would also take an hour, plus quite a bit of walking. You also can't do this to get to MK rope drop, since Epcot isn't open until 9 AM.

I think it's will take about 40 min. by bus. Every time we've done it we stop at Swan & Dolphin only then on to MK.

When we were in early planning stages for our BW trip next Christmas, I asked this question on the Disney Moms Panel. They told me it would take longer to walk through Epcot, monorail to TTC and transfer...close to an hour, as opposed to taking the bus...30-40 min depending on wait.

I would agree with both of those - my "allow an hour" for the bus meant ALLOW an hour, not that it would really take an hour. I think 40 minutes sounds about right most of the time. Walking/monorail definitely longer.

When going from the Boardwalk Inn to the Magic Kingdom the by the Disney Transport bus the route and number of stops is always like this.

1) Boardwalk

2) Swan

3) Dolphin

4) Magic Kingdom

Personally I would say taking the bus is a lot easier then taking the Monorail from Epcot because you would need Park Hopper tickets or Annual Passes to enter both Epcot and Magic Kingdom on the same day. Plus with the Monorail having a lot more problems since the accident in July 2009 I wouldn't want to take a chance getting on it when you don't need to.

when i first saw this post the first thing i thought of was, that is gonna be One Long Ride. for some reason when i see the posts about BWI i think of the airport here. :confused3

oh thank goodness. I think the same thing! :lmao:

We were at BWI in August, and never found getting to the MK to be difficult. We always had a bus pull up within 5 or 6 minutes of getting to the stop. Most of the time, we also stopped at S & D, and once we went straight to MK. Even with the S/D stop, we were usually at the kingdom within 20-25 min. of arriving at the stop.

Getting back, there was frequently the addition of stops at BC and YC, which could have been a drag, but since the Epcot resorts are all so close to one another, we'd usually just get off at whichever resort the bus stopped at first (usually YC) and walk back to BWI. It was a nice pleasant walk at night.

In the afternoon when leaving the Magic Kingdom the Boardwalk was the first stop, so it didn't even stop at the Yacht Club and Beach Club.

It may be quicker to walk to the bus stop at YC/BC, and take the MK bus from there. That way, you definitely wouldn't stop at any of the other hotels on the way to MK. Depending on where your room is at BWI, you might shave some time off.

Of course, if time really is the most important factor, I'm sure a cab from BWI to MK would be the fastest route.

Wow I never thought of that!! For BC/YC is there just one bus stop or one for each resort? if there are 2 which one should I take- BC or YC?? Thanks!!

Thanks for the responses- definitely helps to know what Im looking at!!

It's a 10 minute walk from BWI to the bus stop at either YC or BC. So, while it might be faster to walk to one of those resorts and wait for the bus there, it might also be faster simply to make the 2 minute walk to the BWI bus stop and take the bus from there (even with subsequent stops at S/D, if the wait time for the bus is less at BWI than at BC or YC, going via the BWI bus will be the way to go). There is simply no way of knowing in advance which will be quicker, as there is no way of knowing how long you might have to wait at the resort bus stop once you get there.

We stay at the BC all the time..The Bus is faster.PLUS you need a park hopper to get thru Epcot to the Monorail.Unless you cab to the front of Epcot
