How Long for the Magical Express (I think is what it's called)

Our flight (which I'm actually not happy with at all) is arriving in Orlando at 8:00 pm. How long will it take to get to our hotel? We are staying at All Star Music.

Usually approx 70-90 minutes. Much depends on how long you might have to wait to board the bus, and how many stops it makes before yours.

That's from the time you get off of the plane, so you should be at the resort by 9:30 p.m. if the plane is on time. It also assumes you use the luggage transfer service or have only carry-on bags. If you choose to collect your own luggage at baggage claim, add at least another 20 minutes to the time.

I agree that with an 8pm arrival (if on time) you will be at ASMu around 9:30 on average.

Generally, I find DME to rather quick. Last year we stayed at ASMu, arrived into MCO at 3pm, and were walking away from the resort check in desk a little less than an hour after landing. We were the first resort drop though.

For an 8pm arrival time, I would figure on resort arrival time to be about 9:15-9:30. Bags may not arrive until close to midnight though. The value resorts tend to have slower baggage delivery service, so I would really recommend having the bags held until the next morning..if you allow DME to deliver them for you. You could also leave the tags off the checked bags and collect them yourself upon arrival at MCO. Yes, that will add about 15-20 mins to your overall time, but you will have your bags with you when you arrive at the resort.
If you decide to let DME take care of them for you, tell the front desk, at the resort, to hold your bags until the next morning. Then, stop by the Luggage Assistence area and tell them the same thing. Then, when you get to your room, put out the 'privacy please' hanger on the door...that way no one will disturb you if the luggage hold instructions fall by the wayside. The bags can be delivered first thing in the morning.

In any case, always pack a carryon bag with anything you may need that night...just in case the airline misdirects your checked bag(s). If it were me, I would leave the checked bags untagged, then go to baggage claim, get the bags myself, take the bags with me to the DME area, have then stowed beneath the bus and have them when I got to my resort, vs waiting for them to be delivered via DME.

Last august it took us as long to rent and drive then what it took my mom to take Me with my DDs. We got to AS movie which is right next to Music within 5 minutes of one other. Our flight landed at 10am and we got there at 11:20am
