With the festival of fantasy parade changing from 3pm to 2pm it messed my plans a little. I had a 2pm adr, but just now I was able to change it to 1:25pm. Even that I think is pushing it and will keep trying to move it up.

If we preorder, how long would you expect it to take? Trying to see if I can make the parade (and still get a decent viewing spot).

Pre-ordering your food at BOG is basically the equivalent of a FP+ for lunch.

We preordered in April, and they walked us straight into BOG and we paid at a separate cash register to the left of the regular line and were sat at our table all in less than 3 minutes. The line for the non-pre order people was soooo long, we were so stoked we pre ordered.

We walked out of BOG less than 30 minutes after we checked in. And we took our sweet time! We checked out the West Wing, saw the portraits change, all that. The food came out fairly quickly, you could eat fast and be out of there in even less time.

Awesome. We are def preordering and we would have already been for breakfast two days before so we don't even need to walk around and check it out again.

I would definitely keep trying to move up the time. We've done lunch at BOG twice and we pre-ordered both times. Just for reference, both times were in late June. The first time we arrived a few minutes before our reservation time. We were allowed to check in right away, went to the pre-order cashier (there was no one else in that line), made a change to our order and paid, found a seat and had our food within 10 minutes. We were finished eating about 20-25 minutes after we checked in (we hung around for a little while, but could have easily been out of there in less than 30 minutes). The second time we arrived about 5 minutes before our ADR. We were not allowed to check in until our actual ADR time. We walked up the ramp and there was actually a line of 6 or 7 groups/families in the pre-order line. I think every one of those groups needed to change something on their order before paying. It took about 15 minutes for us to actually get to the cashier to pay for our food. (The line of people waiting to place their orders was all the way across the bridge so we still saved a ton of time by pre-ordering.) Once inside it took another 15 minutes for our food to come out. From the time we checked in until we were finished eating was closer to 40 minutes on that trip. While it's certainly possible to be in and out of there in less than 30 minutes, I wouldn't count on it -- especially if seeing the parade is a priority.

That's what I'm thinking. Def want to try for an earlier res. Making the parade isn't crucial bc we'll see it two days before, but it would be nice if we could make it.

We've had varying experiences with pre order lunch. We've been able to go straight in like you described, but at lunch last week the pre order line was from the cashier to the door and we had to wait about 15 or so minutes just to pay. Our lunch ADR time was 11:45 and we did check in early.
I agree to keep checking for an earlier time.

The regular line for ordering that we saw went out past the doorway, back to the front door and I believe it serpentined past where we could see, in closer to where they ordered. Also, when we left, the non-pre-order line had a secondary waiting line outside that went onto the bridge! It was crazy! On that day we easily saved a good 20 minutes by pre ordering. Sorry your experience wasn't the same!

We always pre-order because it saves us so much time. Last week was the first time the pre-order line was so long when we found ourselves in it. The regular line for those who didn't pre-order was crazy as always and I'm glad we weren't in it. I was thinking that more people are using the pre-order now, since the line was so long. Not nearly as bad as the line for people who didn't pre-order, but it surprised me this time.

I also noticed that more people at Rose and Crown are asking for patio seats for Illuminations and offering to wait for a table. The cm at the podium told me so much too. It seems like word about it has gotten around more (not that it's a new thing, just seemed like more people this time than the others that we've been there). I was thinking the same with BOG, more people pre-ordering now. I still saw the usual people trying to get into both places (and Ohana) without reservations and getting nasty with the cm's.

We will be at BOG on Sunday Sept 3rd for breakfast with 4 adults and are using DDP
Question:
If our ressie is for 4 adults, are we allowed to only order 3 meals and split them ? One person would order just a drink and pay out of pocket for that.
If that is possible, can you still pre-order to get in the hopefully shorter line?
If your ressie is for 4, but you only order 3 meals do you get charged the cancellation fee?
