How long does the bus take from Boardwalk Villas to Magic Kingdom?

We're going to be there in a little less than two weeks and I'm trying to plan to be at the Magic Kingdom for rope drop. I have a couple questions:

1. How long is the bus ride itself from Magic Kingdom to Boardwalk?
2. How long should I expect to wait in the morning for the MK bus?
3. What other resorts are sharing the MK bus with Boardwalk now?

Many thanks!! :goodvibes

Once the bus leaves BW, it takes about 15-20 mins. Depends on whether or not the bus is going to the S/D as well..that can add 10 mins total. So, always figure on at least 30 mins from BW to MK.
The MK bus that runs to BW also includes the Swan and then the Dolphin as well. During the less busy times of day, it may also stop at the YC and BC, but that doesn't seem to happen at park opening and closing.
As far as waits, well it depends on when the previous bus left and when you walk up. If you walk up just at the MK bus is pulling away, then you may have a 15 min wait. But, if you are walking up about 13 mins after the previous bus left, your wait will be less than 5 mins.
This is why Disney will tell you to plan on 60 mins to get from point A to point B at WDW using Disney transportation. It usually doesn't come close to taking an hour though.

So sounds like leaving our room by 8:00am for a 9:00am rope drop should be enough time? I've never been to rope drop, I'm so excited!!

Thanks!!

We've stayed at BW 3 times in early March over the last 4 years, almost always the bus would be shared with S/D, BW being the first stop. Once in a very long while, years apart in our experience, the bus wouls hit all 5 Epcot resorts, but never when heading to ropedrop anywhere.

That should be plenty of time. I was there last month and we just missed the MK bus around 9:00 and another came quickly. Then we stopped at the Swan and Dolphin (2 more stops). I'd say no more than 30 minutes once you get on. Coming back around 3:45, we waited about 15 minutes at MK for the bus and BW was the first stop.

Last week it took about 15 mins to get to MK. We waited about the same amount of time for the bus 15-20 mins. It stops at BW first and then Swan & Dolphin, this was in the morning.

We stay at the BWVs each trip and as the pp have stated it really depends on when you get to the bus stop and the timing of the buses. On our last trip we waited for the MK bus and there were several others waiting also. When everyone got on the empty bus it was crowded enough that the driver called for another bus and we went directly to MK with out stopping at S/D. This has happened to us on more than one occassion so you may be lucky and have that happen also.

What are the order of stops when coming back from the Magic Kingdom to the Boardwalk?

Anytime I have taken it in the past 2 or 3 years, BW was first. It's been a long time since the MK bus serviced all 5 Epcot resorts (in my experience). When it used to service all 5, BW was last (we got off at the Swan first).

Thanks for your reply.

This was our experience the week before last (Nov 6-14): The BWI was the first stop going to MK. We got on at 9:13am, stopped at the Swan, then the Dolphin, it was then 9:23, and we arrived at MK at 9:35. So a 22 minute journey. Or 12 minutes from the last pick up. It did not share with the YC and BC. The DTD bus did, making 5 stops. And I'm pretty sure it the AK bus had all 5 on it as well.

Here is my review if you are looking for anymore info ~ http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2598242 :goodvibes
