Trying to decide how practical it is to pop over to MGM just to do RnR, and maybe ToT if the mood strikes! I don't want to take too much time out of our Epcot day either!

About 40 minutes I believe. When we boarded a week or so ago, they make an announcement that says you will be arriving at MGM at such and such a time. I couldn't believe that it took that long. But, the boat stops at BW, then Y/BC, Swan/Dolphin and then on to MGM.

I've been on often and it usually takes closer to 30 minutes. If you want more exercise, you may be able to walk it faster, but I'm too tired and like the rest!

When we go to WDW during the winter months the boat from MGM to Epcot takes about 25 minutes. I timed it a couple of times and that was correct. Maybe its slower during the busier months.

Is it better to take a bus from Epcot to MGM or take the boat? The boat certainly sounds more relaxing!!princess:

The boat is quicker and easier to get to then the bus. Its also a pleasant ride, you get to see the resorts along the way.

Depending upon the time you leave EPCOT there may or may not be a boat waiting to go. If there isn't one loading then you can make a nice walk over to the Swan and Dolphin hotel to the loading dock and probably pick up a boat from there. You could also stop at Beaches and Cream for a nice ice cream treat. The Swan and Dolphin are the last pick up point before the MGM. This way you can walk and ride without having to stop at the Boardwalk and the BC/YC dock and cut down on the trip time. Be sure to ask if MGM is the next stop. You do not want to get on a boat that takes you back to EPCOT. The boat trip is fun. The Captain and or the mates are usually very informative and sometimes tell great stories or jokes during the trip. On one of the trips to MGM, they blew the boat whistle to see what the reactions would be of people walking along the brick path and we all yelled the pirates Argggg. You should have seen the faces of the walkers. Has anyone else had funny experience in the trip to MGM or EPCOT? If speed is what you are looking for then you could walk or bus faster, but the boat is a fun way to get to MGM from the International Gateway
