How long does it usually take for WL matches to be reflected on the member site?

As mentioned in another thread, I'm delighted that our 4-night WL for a Lake View studio at BLT came through yesterday -- it'll be replacing a 4 night SSR stay for the same dates.

I found this out by calling to make some WL tweaks. What's weird is that the switch still isn't reflected on the dvcmember.com site 24-hours later (the old reservation is still shown).

I sort of wanted to see it in print before adjusting our dining reservations and all that, so I called again this morning to double check. MS confirmed the match, but didn't know why it hadn't been fully confirmed yet.

Is this typical? Can I safely consider it a "done deal" and adjust my plans accordingly?

Anytime a waitlist came through for us it was on the DVC site prior to my knowing about - in fact thats usually how we find out when on a waitlist(since they no longer call 1st to confirm you still want it)

I am sure since it has been confirmed twice that its all set - BUT - I would call and ask them to either find out why its not on the site or ask them if they can email you the confirmation sighting your concerns that it is not reflected on the DVC site. Don't be afraid to ask for a supervisor to get answers if needed:)

Last Friday I changed our reservation from the BWV to BLT for January. I was amazed I could do that BUT I was equally amazed that as I was confirming the reservation on the phone the dvcmember.com was updated. Upon reflection I have always checked the site just following the changes made and the changes have always been reflected. I would not be alarmed as long as you have the confirmation number but if it is not on the website Monday, I might be asking to make sure there is no issue when you show up for your stay.

There's no confirmation number yet, since the new reservation hasn't been processed yet. The WL was matched, and I'm told that this reserves the new room for me in the meantime, but the actual reservation switching hasn't happened yet :confused3

I think part of the issue is that I happened to be calling MS just as the match was found - normally I would have learned of the WL match by seeing on the member site, by which point it would already be processed.

Will definitely call tomorrow afternoon if it still isn't up on the site.

I had a waitlist for May come thru in January that MS had a question on borrowing. Waitlist filling seems to have a manual processing for completion and it was several days before it was done (at least 3 - maybe 5) and showing on the website. I know it's nerve wracking but it should happen without problems since you've been told it came thru.

It is very different from calling and switching a ressie - that shows up immediately.

I've had one other waitlist come thru but I saw that on the website just as I was calling at the 7 month mark to book something else.

Thanks! Good to know that this isn't all that unusual.

our BWV BW view waitlist took a few days to show up on the DVCMembers site. I think as long as they said there's a match, I would say you're safe to make plans accordingly.

Ours as well I called a couple times and they reassured me our WL was filled and it could take up to a week to get onto the web site. Congrats as long as MS said so, it was true for us. have a gret trip.:woohoo:

I just thought I'd add to this. I booked 3 nights at OKW and 5 nights at VWL. I had to waitlist the first 3 nights at VWL. I called MS on Friday early afternoon (maybe like 2pm or so) to see if any of the individual nights had become available so I could gradually turn 5 nights at VWL into 8 nights. To my surprise, when I called, the CM told me that my waitlist had come through! I checked the DVC website but it still showed OKW and VWL. The CM told me it would probably show up by the next day. I must have checked every couple of hours on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The change didn't happen until Sunday night. So for me, it took a little over 2 days before it showed up on the DVC site. So I wouldn't worry if I were you. As long as the CM said it came through, then you're ok.

Just showed up this morning! So to answer my original question for future google searches: 48 hrs :)

If I'm reading you right your waitlist was filled on a Saturday and didn't show up until this morning (Monday)...

This shows that the waitlist system is partially automatic (a service running in the background that crawls through the available rooms matching to waitlists) and partially manual (kicked off Monday morning with an IT CM watching to oversee any issues that may arise). Much like a bank may pull funds from your bank account on a Saturday but it's not a done deal until those monday morning business hours.

So, for most Waitlist transactions they should show the next time the update software is run. If it's a holiday weekend it could take longer than the 48 hours you experienced, or for others it could be only minutes if it's normal IT operating day.

I don't think it's quite that, since I believe if you make a reservation on saturday/sunday it shows up immediately.
