How long does it take to get temporary dvc member card?

We recently closed on a resale July 20 and was in the system on July 29. We received our new member handbook and vacation planner a few days after being in the system. (I just want to mention that our guide's card was attached to one of the handbooks and I found it surprising that it was the same guide I have spoken to only once before on the phone over a year ago when we first had questions about buying directly from Disney. I guess they keep track of who they talk to. I was just surprised that we had the same person since we bought resale. I remember telling him that we were probably going to buy resale because we really wanted VWL to be our HOME.)

Anyway, my question is........
How long does it take to get your temporary dvc membership card?

We purchased our resale in June we never did get a temporary DVC membership card, our actual cards came 5-6 weeks after our closing date.

Time4Disney .. it sounds like we are in the same boat. We also closed on July 20th and we don't have our membership card either, temp or perm. Some people have gotten a temporary membership card but I wonder if that was resale or direct purchase from DVC.
I plan on waiting another week and calling MS after the labor day holiday.

I got my temporary cards as soon as I placed the down payment. However, I bought direct from DVC.

I called MS on this today since we're in the same boat. I'd like a temp. membership card to take advantage of the discounts on our Sept. trip. We just closed Aug. 20th and are leaving for BCV on Sept. 10th.

Long story short, you can go to the SSR sales office when you're there and get a temp. membership card. I'm also considering calling the DVC sales office and requesting they mail me one so I don't have to go there in person.

Anyway, this is what MS told me after she did some research on it. Hope that helps!

She also told me that my room key would label me as a DVC member, saying I might be able to use that as a temp. card, but somehow I have a feeling that just won't do at the discount places.
