I believe to get to Magical Express you have to be on the A side of the airport. Some flights arrive in Terminal B like mine. How much time does it take to do the train, etc. to get over to Terminal A from B?

You take the tram from your terminal to the main terminal and then walk down to Magical Express. Usually you only wait a couple of minutes for the tram to come.

I would say the whole 'trek' getting off the plane, walking to the tram and then getting on and over to Terminal A and to Magical Express ... about 10minutes tops ... that was with a 2 1/2 yrs ds and 5yr old dd pulling their little back packs.

The terms "Terminal A" and "Terminal B" can be confusing to people who have never been to MCO; they do not refer to two buildings, but to two SIDES of one building, the Landside building.

All planes come into one of four Airside buildings, which are connected to the Landside building by monorail trams.

It takes about 2 minutes to walk from your gate to the tram, about 3-5 minutes to get on the tram and ride to the Landside building, and about 3-5 minutes to walk from the tram (on Level 3) to Baggage Claim (on Level 2). When I fly Southwest, my flight's luggage is sometimes begining to come out of the belt by the time I get to Baggage Claim! Of course, if you are flying a participating airline, you won't have to go to Baggage Claim at all, you can proceed directly to Ground Transportation (Level 1) to find the DME desk.

Once you have your luggage, it takes another 2-3 minutes to walk from Baggage Claim (Level 2) down to Ground Transportation (Level 1).

The terminal building is very long, so you might have another long walk once you get onto Level 1; DME is located at one end of the "A" side of the building. Crossing over from the B side ot the A side is done by means of several hallways spaced through the length of the building; total time from Baggage Claim to DME might be 5 or 6 minutes, depending on how far down the terminal you started.

Below is a diagram of the MCO terminal layout. If I remember correctly, DME is located in the "N" section of Level 1, all the way at the end of the building.

Since you can't zoom up on the above image, you might want to download the following PDF file (it's 3mb so it may take a few minutes), which contains all of the MCO Wayfinding maps. Once you have this file, you can zoom up to read the small text on the maps.

if you use Magical Express, do you get your own luggage- I thought they get it for you and deliver it to your resort.

Yes, even using an airline-like Southwest or Air Tran- that is "non-participating" you put the tags on your luggage before you leave home, check in at your home airport, and you'll see your luggage in the hotel room. You do not have to pick it up from the carousel. Disney does a great job on picking out those yellow tags!

Non-participating airlines simply means that when it is time to leave WDW  , you have to take all of your own luggage to the airport and check it in yourself. HTH

After you get off the tram from the gates, you will be on level 3. Turn left if your gate was in the 30 to 59 group or turn right if it was in the 60 to 99 group (see the list of airlines in willcad's post). Look for the large "A". Then take the escalators or elevator down to level 1.

To the OP - how do you know which terminal you're flight will arrive in? Is it printed you're ticket? Newbie here, haven't flown since '89...thanks :)

No it isn't printed on your boarding pass what terminal you are in. You always have to go to the main terminal from the gates.

Once you are in the main terminal it is clearly marked where A and B is.

If you are wanting to know which gates your flight will arrive at, check out this link: http://www.orlandoairports.net/goaa/ops/airlines.htm. That will tell you which gates are used by which airlines, then you can check the map and see where that is!

Safetymom - thank you for letting me know :)

Mom2DS - thank you too, I'm going to check this out now :thumbsup2
