How long does it take to get a cab at a resort

We've never taken a taxi from a WDW resort before. Just wondering on average how long does it take to get one.

Should we be going down 30 min before we need to leave or is 5-10 sufficient?

Unless you need a specific taxi type (e.g., handicap accessible, van, etc.), I've always seen taxis waiting at the entrances to the resorts. At the Deluxes, they tend to be near the valet stand or bell services (basically near the front entrance). At the values there is a stand area for them in the parking lot. I can't remember where they are at the mods, but I would guess they're also near the main entrance.

I tend to only use them at the Deluxe resorts, but I've never had to wait more than 5 minutes for one to show up if the queue is empty.

Ask at the valet desk outside the front door of the resort. They will wave a cab over for you, or call one for you if there doesn't happen to be one there already.
