How long does it take -help with WDW Visa?

I finally got my Disney Visa card from the $200 offer today however when I called to activate the rep said it may be too late for me to get the rewards in time for my trip in mid August! That's the only reason I got the card - how long did it take others to get the reward? If I charge some things this week (I assume you have to purchase something) will I have to wait till I pay the bill to order the reward card?

This is my timeline of events with the new Disney visa - the card came in the mail, I went and bought something, I waited a month for my statement to close, I paid the bill, and several weeks later I got the gift card in the mail. I would say it was at least 6 weeks, maybe longer!

Oh, no we leave in 5 weeks! I've heard there is a way to pick up a rewards card in the parks - does anyone know how that works? Or can I make a payment on my account early before the bill comes due? I certainly don't need a rewards card if we will be home from Disney till I receive it!
