I believe that it can take 6-8 weeks. The timeframe should have been noted in the terms of the offer. Generally, your RR points from purchases will drop into your RR account within a few days of the date when your end-of-billing-cycle statement is generated. Bonus RRs take longer.I just got the card a few days ago, charged my daughter's tuition to it, and now I'm hoping my 50,000 points will be deposited into my RR account. Does anyone know about how long it takes?

Thank you all! I'm still waiting to hear if I qualify for the Premier. I took someone's advice and applied for it directly after applying for the Business, and it said they needed to look it over first. Ugh. I hope that isn't bad news. I'm assuming that I should keep the 50,000 in my RR account & not use it until I get the other card and the 50,000 from that one, right? (for the companion pass)
You can use them, you don't have to have 110,000 points in your account in order to earn the companion pass. You just need to earn the 110,000 points in the single calendar year. There is a running total in your account, they don't deduct them when you use them. So go ahead and book! That's what we did. Booked our flights for May as soon as the 50k posted (for both of us) and when we earn the companion pass, I'll add my flights as my fiance's companion, and cancel my flights currently booked on points. Going to make sure we have the 110k by March in case there are any delays with them posting.
And for the premier, did it give you a phone number to call? I think you should be able to call in to the reconsideration line, and not have to wait for whatever comes in the mail. They will probably ask why you're applying for 2 different cards. Since you did a business and personal, just tell them you like to keep your business expenses separate from your personal expenses.
Earned points post about 3 days after the billing cycle closes. The bonus points will post at the same time if the qualifying purchase was at least seven days before the closing of the cycle. If it was closer than that, you can expect the bonus points to post the following month.

I hope this isn't a stupid question, but how can I tell when the billing cycle closes?
On the Website Click on "CREDIT CARD (...XXXX)" (your last 4 digits will appear)
On the right side under account info you will see Last Statement Date & Next Closing Date. The Next Closing date is when you next statement will close.

Maybe or maybe not. I'm not aware of this 7 day rule and feel it would really only be observed out of conservatism. Although it's important to ensure Chase and SW have time to communicate regarding the processing of the bonus, I've had the bonus points hit my statement with my minimum spend qualifying purchase occurring in as little as three days of the closing date (last week actually).

If you just got your new card and have already spent the $2000 then most likely your in for a pleasant surprise. Most people don't know that if you meet miniumum spend quickly then you get the bonus before your 1st official closing. I have done this several times. So if you just got your card and the due date/closing is Feb 25th then you would see your points around Jan 25th.
My data points:
Approved on 9/10. I got my card on 9/17. Met minimum/$2000 by 10/5. On 10/9 unofficial closing/received 52,000 points. Official 1st payment due date/cosing 11/9. Bonus posted in SW Acct on 10/12.
It appears you are confusing payment due date and closing date. The due date of your payment is not the same as the cycle closing date (you can find this information online on your account). Based on your own data points, your closing date was 10/9 and you received your bonus points on 10/12 along with your cycle spending amount of $2000; a completely typical scenario. When you actually make the payment and/or the payment due date has nothing to do with receiving the bonus and is not the same as closing date. I've achieved the minimum spend in a single day of having my card before and just like always, the bonus hits just after the first statement close date.
More data points: 5/23 Approved for SW Plus. Got a week later. Met minimum spend within week. 52,385 points sitting in my Southwest Account on 6/17. That's less than a month.
Yeah! Those 2 weeks before the "first closing". I spent it well within the 2 weeks.New chase cards frequently come with cycles less than 1 month so the data points your provided aren't material. Both of the cards I just got had just over two week cycles before the first closing date. Also, if your cycle spend of $2,385 hit your RR account then your statement cycle closed....RR points will not be credited until that happens. If you go online or call the card number you will be able to tell your exact closing date.
