How long does a PPO Garden Grill res take?

I have never been a breakfast person at Disney before, but my DBF needs his breakfast each morning. So I thought to get a PPO for garden grill in the morning (8:15 was the earliest avail) so that we can get in there early for soarin, then TT and hopefully a FP for FEA.

I have never been to garden grill, how long will it take for us to eat? I would hate to lose out on a rope drop, for which I am usually in the front of the crowd in the past.

With a 8:15 ADR you will be able to get in with the earlier (8:00) ADRs. When we went (family of 4) we were the first family in, met all the characters and ate our fill and were out around 8:40.

In March we ate at Garden Grill at 8:10am. Be sure to be at the park before 8am to get through bag check and they have a dedicated line for folks with dining reservations.
You can eat as fast or slow as you want. After they bring your drinks your food comes right away.
We saw all the characters within about 10 minutes. They came around very fast because the restaurant is still mostly empty at that point.
I think in the 40 minutes we were there the characters all came like 3 times.
The meal is served family style and it was good.
This was our 2nd time for breakfast. The last time we ate there, our server told us that Soarin was open prior to park opening, for diners of the Garden grill. Perk!
So we hurried up to finish so we could jump on Soarin

Garden Grill is a relatively 'quick' restaurant. I've heard from a lot of people that the characters make their rounds rather fast (a lot of families end up meeting characters multiple times) and service is good. You'd probably be out of there right before rope drop or right on time to beat the crowd.

This is good to hear! I just booked an 810. I was worried about the amount of time it would take. Although I won't be riding Soarin so I can wait for the check no problem.

Thanks, but that doesn't make a whole lot of sense. Letting a dining party with a reservation in @ 8AM, at the WS entrance no less, for what I assume was an 8AM reservation? Did you have a reservation later than 8AM?

You can comfortably do breakfast in a 1/2 hour. It's a pretty small restaurant that will not yet be full at 8:15, so the characters get to you quickly. We were one of the first tables sat last time we were there and we ended up with multiple characters at our table together because there were so many empty tables. But even when that restaurant is full, I've had the characters come by 3 - 4 times in an hour.
