How long do you usually wait at Budget counter?

I usually book with National so we usually do Emerald Reserve. This year we are doing Budget. Got a great rate on full size van ($377.00 for 2 weeks :cool1: ), but I have to wait in the line.

How long do you think that we will be waiting. If this makes a difference we arrive on a Tuesday August 2 at 10 am.

Thanks

sign up for fast break and you will not have to wait in line at all. Just go to the garage and see the attendent in the booth. The attendant will verify your reservation and give you your keys. It is a process less than five minutes and you are on your way. Fastbreak also gives you discounts, a small one but none the less a discount.

Thanks for the suggestion Kimberly, but the reservation is in my Mom's name (she likes to drive), and she only uses her Visa/Debit card. In order to sign up for fast break you have to register a credit card. I would try and change the ressie to my name, but I don't want to run the risk of losing that great rate.

This is why I was wondering if you have to stand in line, how long do you usually wait.

At 10 AM, I would expect the line to be under 20 mins. Although theres many arrivals around that time, you shouldn't have to wait too long.

If you have checked bags, you could go pick them up at baggage claim while your mom gets the car paperwork taken care of. Also, try going online & seeing what rate you can get with your info(credit card, etc.) You could end up with a better rate or the same rate as your mom, then you could go ahead and register for FastBreak in your name.
Vacation time at WDW is too preicous to waste in a car rental line...I save waiting in any possible lines for the actual theme parks :teeth: .

agnes!

We arrived on a Saturday afternoon and waited in line about 30 minutes. If you can do the fastbreak, I would recommend it, as the customer service guy I got was - I'm trying to be nice here - maybe not the brightest person in the world!

Agnes I wish I could try and get a better rate than $377 for a full size van. Everytime I have ever looked it has always been over $1,000.00.

I think I will send her to the car rental counter while I retrieve the bags. That's a good idea.

betsyboop that doesn't sound to bad. Hopefully our wait time will be 30 minutes or less.

The wait itself wasn't that bad - it was dealing with the counter guy! He was probably one of the worst parts of my whole trip! :sad2:

I can top that one! When we were waiting in line there was a couple at the counter with two little kids, it was 1:00 AM and they had no money left on their credit card. They had the poor guy run their card like 4 times and nothing. Then he gave them the phone and they had to call their CC company. That took at least 10 more minutes. Then the agent had to get on the phone with the CC company to get an authorization. How do you arrive on vacation in WDW and not have any money left on your CC? Not a great way to start vacation. I was the fifth person in line and I was in line for over an hour. Now, there was only one agent on however.

how did you ever get a full sized van for that rate, i have been trying everything to get a mini van and the best deal i have found so far is 494.00 from alamo. we will be there aug.22- sept 2. i'm not having much lucknfinding a good deal. :earseek:

We got to the Budget counter last May on a Saturday morning around 9:30 and didn't have to wait at all. There was only 1 person working the counter, but they were finishing up with someone when I arrived. I think I got really lucky. Next time I will definitely use FastBreak. The process took about 15-20 minutes before we could go to the garage.

I know that we rented from National last April, and got the very last SV in the lot. (April 2). I recall looking up at the Budget line and it was long!
