No movement on BLT waitlist for my UY in 3 months!!! Rumph. I'm starting to stress bc we actually need points. I need them by Oct 2013 so I'm crossing fingers and working on contingencies

Are you trying to buy direct or resale? We bought direct and closed May 1 on BLT. May want to call your guide if that's the case-good luck.

I just read this on another board. The poster wanted to add on at VGC and was told his UY had about a one year wait.

The interesting this was, the price he was quoted was $158, which he said, after I asked him, includes a $7 incentive for purchases over 50 points.

I really wonder DVC feels the need to offer incentives at a resort where they have wait lists of up to one year.

The last two small contracts I've seen for VWL (resale) have been $85 pp. The first one sold quickly. The second just hit the books in the last day or so. Yowser.

I went on the list 2/28 for 50 points at BWV Dec UY, and it came through 4/18. Pretty quick, and points were loaded before I even signed the contract. I asked for another 50 points 3/13, still waiting on those, but all in all I'm happy. With all the incentives, I figured I paid about $600-800 more on a 50 point contract than current resale... if there WERE any small, loaded BWV contracts for resale, which there are not!!

It's not so much of an incentive as it is a way of softening the harsh blow of significant price increases. In retail, it is considered false advertising and bad business practice to raise the price of something just so you can put it on sale and advertise it as such. In timesharing, it's called an incentive. Go figure.

Again, another example in which direct is the better all around option. Although it's worth noting that this is at the old price with some pretty hefty incentives. At the new price I still feel that buying the classic resorts direct in any amount is a bad deal.

Just saw an email blast for a 50 point bwv for 90 a point sept use year no points until 2014. Ok home gamers. 400 closing add in 12 for rental of 2013 points you are almost right on with us wait list direct people. Still on the wait list from feb was told 3 people are ahead of me. The small contracts under 50 points seem to be hitting around the $90 mark with or without 2013 points- yikes! I think prices are going to continue to climb at least in the short term. It will be interesting to see how close resale prices (specifically on small contracts) get to direct.

UPDATE: that email blast sold for asking price in a matter of minutes! WOW, definitely a seller's market !

With the incentives I paid $105/pt plus 2 5 day park hoppers 2012 pts forward. That resale went for $90 with no points til 2014. Definitely a sellers market

My second contract came through on 06/06, although it took me until today to get through to my guide to confirm. They are super busy! Good luck to those still waiting on BWV, it shouldn't be long...

Thanks! I didn't get on the list until 4/2 with a held quote from 3/19 so I imagine I'm dead last and still have a bit of a wait but it's very nice to see it is moving . It does give me hope that I will have them by Sept and get the 2012 points which is all I really care about!

Right now there are none. Some of the folks whose wait lists just came through got on the list while there were incentives available.
