How long do you think RnR will stay Aerosmith?

I expect that is what will happen one day. They can keep the track and put any theme in they want. But without the Marvel licenses in Florida, I'm not sure what they would use.
Though .. we don't know the future of DHS .. Rock N Roller coaster never really fit into the them (location or general idea). It never really fit into the old Hollywood theme that goes down that boulevard and it was never a "making of movies" theme that the studios had.

So where will Rock-n-Roller coaster fit? You'll have Star Wars Land .. Toy Story Land .. Muppets Square .. old Hollywoodland.
So it is just some random roller coaster with a music studio/concert theme with a legendary rock band? How does that fit into any of those themed lands?

To me Indiana Jones and Rock n Roller coaster don't seem to fit into the themed areas that the new DHS will have and both probably will be changed in some format... but no way UNTIL Star Wars and Toy Story is done.

I agree.

RnR fit in well enough into the L.A./Hollywood theme before (back when there was a "modern" studio backlot tour and FX show, car stunt show, America Idol, ABC Commissary, Academy of Television, etc. They all captured the L.A. scene pretty authentically.

Now? I think "Old Hollywoodland," "The Great Movie Ride" and the "Hollywood Studios" name are on borrowed time.

Indy's Stunt Show may go away, but since Disney spent a lot of movie for full rights to Indy, I expect he'll get bigger and better stuff in the future.

Old Hollywood will still have a presence. They don't want to touch anything else in this park until their major expansions are done. If anything major happens to the old hollywood theme it won't be until after 2021ish.

I don't see why it ever has to change.

the music will live on forever. A Led Zeppelin roller coaster built in 1974 would still be just as sweet in 2016 as it would have been then (well, you know, if it was adjusted for modern day tech like magnetic launches and a loop).

Doesn't matter if it fits. The ride is so good it doesn't matter. :). They did kinda tuck it back around a bend at the end of the street so you can't see it looking down the boulevard anyway.

It doesn't really "fit" anywhere in any of the four parks, but I'm sure glad it's there.

Probably until one of them dies, then it would just be sad and creepy.

My original post was going to be "when Steven Tyler dies".

Also, in agreement with the poster who said Steven Tyler and Disney World have a good relationship. We were there once and going to have a dinner at Sci-Fi at the Studios. This was years ago so it was still MGM at the time. I was meeting the other members of mu party there and they arrived earlier than me. Once I got there, my son (a late teenager at the time) said that they had just seen Steven Tyler go into the restaurant and that's why everyone was all bunched up at the entrance. I figured I had just missed him so no big deal and I was sure he had been escorted to a private area inside.

We go in, our table is announced as being ready so I was leading the party of six behind the Cast Member and out to our car. We were going down the short corridor to the theatre and here comes a young boy followed by his father and another dude around the corner. The Cast Member casually ignored them but I wasn't paying attention as I wanted to make sure my party was behind me and when I realized I was going to knock over the father, I excused myself and then realized - it's Steven Tyler. After that, I went a bit crazy and my husband about fell over and my son was slack jawed. The rest of the party had no idea.

Once we were seated in our car, Mr. Tyler, his son and the other dude (he's the blond in the band) came out and went to a car to our right and continued on with their dinner. There were no bodyguards, no pretense of anything. Just a father, his son and a friend going to the bathroom like anyone else.

I've seen Aerosmith in concert twice and love them, so I am biased. ;)

That said, DS11 and DD9 would HATE IT if they removed Aerosmith from this attraction! They LOVE the music. :)

Clearly, I raised them well... ... :rotfl:

I am confident we will see both RnR and ToT re-themed at some point but not until all the current construction at DHS is done. I like Aerosmith and they are a big enough band that they will always be relevant but I think Disney will want to use their own IP for both of those attractions. What IP that will be I can't say.

Why would they retheme ToT??

Why would they retheme ToT??

Because the Twilight Zone isn't Disney's IP. There are rumors going around that it will be re-themed to Guardians of the Galaxy. I don't know if it will be or not but I don't see a company that owns so much IP paying other people for theirs.

It's just a hunch.

I know it's not their IP, but I don't think that's prohibitive, even over the long term. I think making that Guardians of the Galaxy would be horrible! Seems like an attraction that's perfect the way it is, to me.

It'll stay Aerosmith until Gene Simmons runs out of things to buy, then it'll be the KISS Coaster

Here's my suggestion:

My DH loves this band. For real. He's an old school Punk and he loves them.

Now if they re-theme-- I could see it as a Sugar Rush/Wreck It Ralph coaster-- the movie was so bright and eye catching. But I'm not an imagineer so what do I know?

I hope they never change the songs. Whenever I hear them outside of WDW, I immediately flash to RNR and it brings such a smile to my face!

I can see it going to a disney theme, but not for quite a while yet

One of the worst kept secrets with Disney Parks right now is the plans to change the ToT at DCA to a Guardians of the Galaxy ride (they are keeping the ride mechanics, but the Hollywood Hotel theme would be "demolished"). Since Disney makes and cancels plans all the time until they are officially announced, it has to be considered a rumor. And, so far, rumors of removing Aerosmith and installing Spider-man at WDSP in Paris have not come true. Since the current Universal deal prohibits Marvel at WDW for now, there seem to be no plans to re-theme the rides at DHS, but the rumors worldwide do seem prophetic for both themes in the long-term.

Let's face it, these companies float ideas all the time...some get to approval stage...some might even get to construction phase...before someone pulls the plug because of budget costs and everything goes back to the way it was. So...even executives who may make the decision one day don't know what will happen down the line..
