How long do you think it would take you to plan a Disney World vacation?

Of course they make those. I'll have to upload a pic of mine. ::yes::

This ain't no illlness! :lmao: But it is contagious.

I can't wait to see the picture! :lmao: I hate Rubik's cubes. Can't figure them out to save my life. I do have this thing called a Rubik's snake or something that I do like. It's hard to describe; it's like a string of triangles that you twist to make into shapes.

Just how contagious is it? Am I safe up here?

Another lurker coming out of the shadows to say hello and join in! Did you get Gracie's custom dresses in yet?

:welcome: I am so glad you joined us. Grace's dresses didn't come in yet. The lady had to make them after I ordered them. She said it shouldn't take too long and that I will have them in plenty of time for our trip. I am going to make her a dress for Animal Kingdom either today or tomorrow. If it comes out I will post pictures of it here.

I'm sorry that C won't be able to join you and yes it's the responsible thing to do, especially if the teacher is making demands...

I'm just sad that courtney is growing up....I'm sure it's a mixed bag for parents....happy to see their children mature and make good decisions...sad that a certain amount of innocence and child like joy is gone forever.....

You'll have a good time regardless.:thumbsup2 :grouphug:

Ok, that reminds me of a terrible reality show that was on MTV a few years ago - Beauty and The Geek. One of the geeks tried to impress a group of "beauties" by solving a rubik's cube behind his back. One of the girls was just in awe and said "Oh my God, I can barely figure out one side of those things". Does everyone get how hilarious that is???

I need to know where you got these dresses. I never shop on Ebay. Is it easy to find?

I will dig it out and get a pic of it as soon as I can. :thumbsup2

It's pretty bad. Don't know how far it can spread. :rolleyes1 But it's fun when it catches you. :cool1:

Let me start the introductions

Me- Laura- I am a stay at home mom of three. I love Disney World. Probbally just like you. I am the one in the family that loves to plan all our trips. This will be my third trip to Disney World. I went with my parents when I was sixteen. I hated it and said I never wanted to go back. We went on the fourth of July and it was hot and crowded. The thing I remember most is waiting in line forever. We went to MK on the 4th and Epcot on the 5th.

In 2006 Dh won a trip to Hawaii from work. He hates to leave our kids and we the trip was for two to Hawaii. When the paper work came in it was actually a travel voucher for $5,000. We could use it however we chose. Dh asked me to book a Disney World trip for us and the kids. I really didn't want to go but I booked it. I started researching and found out all kind of stuff. I was starting to get excited about our trip. We went for Mardi Gras 2006 and had a blast. I started planning our next trip for Mardi Gras 2008 right after we came home. Well................ we got quite a surprise later that year. I found out I was pregnant after nine years of trying. We had given up hope and our dream of another child was finally coming true. Dh didn't want to go to Disney World with a baby and he said we had to cancel the trip. After Grace was born I convinced him we could go with a baby. He finally said yes. We went on our 2008 Mardi Gras trip with a seven month old and it was a blast.
Going back to what I said earlier dh said that we couldn't go back until Grace is four. Now it is not even a year since our trip and he has me planning another one. I am more than willing to do it.

I just previewed my post and realized that my fonts are huge sorry. I will continue to the next post and make them smaller.

Wow, another trip is really great.:)

We just got there last Christmas too and the experience is really wonderful, now we are planning to go back for the next holidays. I'm a little bit excited again. :)

Have a nice day everyone. :)

Just found you. All caught up. Sorry about Courtney not going but understandable, high school is very important time for education but it still stinks.

Courtney surprises me sometimes. She drove home the other night after work and walked in the house crying. She wanted to know if we are going to miss her when she leaves for college. I want her to go to school around here but she is not sure where she wants to go. She would like to go to LSU in Baton Rouge. That is about a hour away. I told her she can't go there because there is too much traffic. She wants to be a pharmasist.

Wow it must be beautiful there for Christmas. I would love to go at that time of year.

I know. I am sad. Maybe I should make a flat Courtney to take with us. I would have to make a few of them. One smiling, one rolling her eyes, one scared one (for when the characters come around), and one pouting.:rotfl2:

I just wanted to post some pictures of the things I have for the trip.

I bought Grace some pajamas and a night gown at Target the other day. Here are the pictures.

I also made her a dress. I wanted to make it in zebra with lime green polka dot trim but I couldn't find the green polka dot material. I found this fabric with baby animals so I bought it. It is trimed in pastel yellow and white polka dot. She will wear it to Animal Kingdom. She will also be able to wear it when I take her to the zoo down the street from us.

We are going camping this weekend. I might do a mini trip report on our big camping trip.
Now I have a funny little story to share with you. I was folding clothes the other day and Grace came up to the basket and grabed a pair of Courtney's panties and said, "Sissy, Oh!" , she took her bow out of her hair and put the panties on her head.:rotfl2: She cried when I took them away. Courtney said Grace must have thought the panties were a headband because she usually put a headband on Grace when she goes in her room.:rotfl2:

I am sure I have mentioned to you how sassy Courtney can be. She has left me hanging about if she is going to choose to come to Disney World with us or stay with my parents. She doesn't want me to bug her about her choice. I gave her until today to let me know. She told me a little while ago that she is not coming with us.:scared1: Let me tell it to you like she told it to me. She said that we are going during a break from school and she would miss out on doing stuff with her friends. It is actually only a partial break they are only off of school Monday and Tuesday. She said because of that she would miss out on three class days of chemistry. I guess I should be proud that she is sounding responsible. Another reason she gave me is that she would have to miss work. That excuse is hard for me to believe. This is where it really gets sassy. She had the nerve to say that she just went to Disney World and she remembers it vividly so she doesn't need to go back. She said that I am obcessed (sp?) with Disney World and all I do is plan everything we are going to do when we go back. She said that I probbaly even plan where we are going to fart and which trash can we are going to throw our trash in.:scared1: I wanted to slap her silly. Instead I told her I am going to give her one more chance to make up her mind. I will expect an answer by morning. I can't believe my own daughter doesn't know if she wants to go back to Disney World.

What is wrong with that child!!!!!! I would love to go for Mardi Gras we went last year with about as much planning as you have. I would love to spend my birthday with Mickey.

We were there last Mardi Gras too. How did you trip go with a little while to plan? I am glad you joined us. I hope you stick around.

it was great I rented DVC points for the first time. The only thing that was bad about the trips is we had to change hotels twice, but we had fun. We managed to get ADR's @ Cape May character breakfast, Coral Reef, Teppan Edo, Chef Mickey's, planet hollywood, and Yak and Yeti. We had some other places too but I don't remember, we did deluxe dining plan . We had a blast!!!!

I just noticed you are from Thibodeaux, LA. Faron had to go there day before yesterday to look at a grocery store. Rouses. He is a store director for Super One Foods in New Iberia. Rouses is opening a new store in Youngsville. Faron had to go check out his competition. He bought a king cake there and it was good but I rather Super One's king cakes.

I need ideas to surprise Brennan. I talked to his teacher and she has no problem with us letting him miss school for three days. She said to go and have a fun time. She did say not for us to keep our plans quiet. I told her it was no problem because we were keeping it a secret from Brennan. I guess my original plan to page him over the intercom and say send Brennan to check out he is going to Disney World, is not going to work. I have to think of something else now. What can I do now? I saw an idea on another thread about surprising kids. It said to pack a not in the lunch box saying that when you get back from school today we are going to Disney World. I kinda like that idea. But Brennan would tell the whole school. Although because they are off of school for two days it might work. I just wanted to get some input from my dis buddies. Maybe I can make his lunch and put clues in it. Like cut his sandwhich in the shape of a mickey head and put disney theme treats in his lunch box and mickey mouse napkin. It would just make him wonder. He will figure it out when he gets in the car after we check him out because he will see the suitcases.

the dress you made for Grace is so cute!
I wish I could sew, but after many failed attempts, which lead to tantrums and very unlady like behavor........I've given up. If it can't be got glued, duct taped, or stapled my family is out of luck.

I think you should make flat courtneys to go with you!

Sorry i haven't been around for a few days. Now i'm trying to catch up on everyone's TR's before I update my own.

Sad that Courtney can't go but understandable at the same time. It's good that she is such a good student and really cares about her GPA.

I like the lunch idea to surprise Brennan. The sandwich idea, etc. PERFECT!! It will get him wondering. Then when you check him out and he really see's what's happening he is going to be so shocked! :rotfl2:

Those clothes are so cute!

I like the subtle clues in the lunchbox. I wouldn't go out and announce it...just maybe Mickey sandwich and if you can find some Disney-themed snacks or something to go along with it.

Have a fun time camping. Did you pick the coldest weekend of the decade or something? Stay warm! (Why do I feel funny telling somebody in Louisiana to "stay warm"? :lmao: )
