Other than high school my first real relationship was/is with my husband who I met at 18 just a few months after I graduated and we just celebrated our 41st wedding anniversary.

My first (and really only) long term relationship lasted just about 3 years and produced 2 children. It should have ended about 2 years earlier.

I have had only one relationship. We started going “steady” in 1967 at age 16, got married in 1974 and were together until his passing in 2008. I gave his eulogy on our 34th wedding anniversary.

Started dating DH in high school. Got married while we were both in college.
So married 48 years and dated for 2=50 years

High School... 3 years Went different directions after HS. Amazingly after 50 years we started to keep in touch again but only as email and facebook connections. She lives in Conn. and I live in NC. Don't read anything into this, she just celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary and I just celebrated my 22nd post divorce observance.

Second... lasted 29 years with many odd reasons for breaking up. None made any sense. I've had a few relationships since then but none serious, at least on my part.
