We are on the list to buy a resale from TTS. I know plenty of others have bought from them. How long did you wait? We're not in a rush I'm just trying to figure out the average.

Thanks!

We were lucky and found the perfect contract right at the time we decided to buy. It took 7.5 weeks from when we returned the paperwork to when we made our first ressie. We even got VWL for 6 weeks out. Plus it saved about 2K over buying direct. :goodvibes

However, we had deliberated and researched and thought about it from our DVC tour in October until we rented points in Jan, so we had a pretty good idea of what we wanted when we finally made up our mind.

Good luck with finding that perfect contract!!

i got on jason's email list on 9/15. (i was looking for a small contract - 50 pts or less.)

i finally found a contract i wanted on 10/18. (i called a little late in the day though and another buyer had beaten me to it - but when he backed out a day or 2 later, i was ready to go.)

What are you trying to buy? That probably makes a big difference. 50 points BC for example might be very hard, 150 SSR probably not too hard.

(Small seems harder!)

It took a couple months of research on here about the resale market for DW and I to finally decide to make the plunge and we are the extremely happy owners of a 50 point contract at VWL.

TTS is the best!

While I agree TTS is great, don't limit yourself. I just got an email from another broker with a 50 point OKW. (And I bet it's gone in just a few minutes LOL!)

Like many others, we did our research, hemmed and hawed about it for about a month before we called when we found a contract that met our needs.

Then - that one got picked up by Disney in ROFR - they decided it was too good a deal - so they became the buyer.

We turned around the next day and bought 2 smaller contracts from TSS which have made it through ROFR and are now closing in just a few days - we can't wait! :dance3:

Best of luck as you decide!

Thanks everyone. We are on Jason's list for SSR or BWV, 100-120 points, Spring month use year. I know we narrowed it down a lot. I would love two small contacts at either one but they go so fast.

I looked at TSS website on 12/26 am.....
By 12/26pm....i had put a bid on 150pts at WLV....

I was in the system on 3/1 am....
by 3-1 pm...had 2 ressies:lmao:

We'll let you know how long it takes when we finish. :)

We went to ROFR on 3/29 for a BWV 200 pt contract. Took 3 days from offer to when both parties had submitted paperwork and it went to ROFR. I'm hoping :goodvibes to hear by end of this week - but really expecting sometime at the end of next or later. After that, another 1-2 weeks for closing and another 1-2 weeks to get in the system. I'm hoping by May we'll be in Disney's system.

Chris

P.S. To your original question - we got lucky and found a BWV 200 with April use year and all 2007 pts as soon as we decided on BWV.

Hi I just talked my husband into the DVC. Could you guys tell me about resales. What is this how do you find people selling and is it a better way to buy? Can a pro give me some info.

Thought about it since 2005, after we first rented and visited during a beautiful week during Mardi Gras.

Took it while to convince DH, he wants to buy a lot and built a downsized house. I think he finally saw the handwriting on the wall when I booked another trip for this summer in a 2 BR and it cost $$$.

He also saw how time I was spending on line researching the purchase and knew I was doing my homework.

I called TTS and got on an email list, you find out about the listings quicker that way, although I still checked on line because there were times that I saw them on there before I received the email (I think they were having website issues). I saw one listing a couple of days later, made a bid the same day it was listed, but the owner did not budge on the price, so I kept looking. Found another a few days later.

If you are looking for the TTS site, look of the DVC page on the Discussions board summary, you'll see a link.

I would definitely call and get on their email list for new listings.

Good luck!

We contacted A Timeshare Broker, inc. on 2/21 to get a "loaded" ssr contract all 06 and 07 points or a triple 05 06 07 points. We then proceeded to torture Jaki and **** there as one contract got away after another, and they would scramble for another "perfect" contract. 4 bids later we just passed rofr today (4/2). Yes that was long but we were searching for the "Golden Fleece" of contracts and they go fast. They tell us the next step takes 2 wks :scared: :hourglass ,getting final contracts. Then we will have to wait to have points in system to book...which I have heard takes 3-4 weeks. :headache: :headache: :headache:
What would I have done if I knew i took this much patience?

1. Taken an advanced quantum physics course
2. Win the Nobel prize for inventing a time machine
3. Travel back in time to end of January to buy SSR at $86 a point with Friends and Family

Which all probably would have taken less time than waiting for my resale:sad:  :crazy2:
