How long did you date before marriage?

DH and I dated for just under a year before we got married. We were only dating about 2 months when we got engaged. We were both in our 30's and knew what we did and didn't want in a relationship but it still took our families by surprise.

dh and i were together for 7 years to the day! Really cos I was only 15 when we first met, so we couldn't have got married. been married now for just over a year.

DH and I started dating in highschool...I was a soph. and he was a senior AND we went to different colleges, so we dated for a while! We startd dating in Feb 1994, got engaged in December 1998, got married in June 2000.

DH and I dated almost 4 years. We started dating in September of our freshman year in college and we were married less than 2 weeks after we graduated. We were engaged the spring of our junior year.

We met August 18, '73, got engaged February 18, '74, and were married July 8, '74.

We met during my sophomore year of college. Started dating in April of that year. Got engaged the following year, but decided to wait until we were both out of school. I graduated and taught school for a year, but he was still going to school part time and working full time at that point. So we decided that over 3 years was long enough to wait. We had two kids before he finally got his undergrad degree. Then he went on and got a graduate degree as well. He's our perpetual student in the family.

Well, it was almost 2 years before we got married, but we got engaged after only 6 months and we both knew we wanted to marry each other after only 2 months.
We have been married for 21 years.
