How long did it take you?

To get from MCO to hotel (POFQ if possible) and then into the parks? Am trying to figure out what first evening options are. Thanks

Would like to know about this too. Our flight lands at 5 and so there isn't going to be alot of time for the parks I am afraid, as we are going the 3rd week in Sept.

The average time, from plane to resort, is about 70 mins. I have arrived at the resort 50 mins after deplaning but another time it took close to 90 mins. It all depends on wait times. If you are lucky and the stars all align perfectly in the world of DME, you 'may' get to your resort 55-60 mins after getting off the plane. But, I usually plan on it taking me 90 mins....that way I have plenty of time to spare.
Then, plan on about 30 mins to checkin. If your room is ready you can go there and get settled and freshened up. If the room isn't ready, you can leave your carryon bags with Luggage Assistence and then head directly to a park.
I would say, overall, plan on it taking up to three hours. Booking ADRs, on your arrival day, can be tricky. If a plane is delayed, you could be in danger of missing your meal.

Yay, so I at least stand a chance of seeing illuminations or wishes if one or the other is on at 9pm (we arrive in MCO at 5.15pm)

If you arrive at 5:15, you 'should' be at your resort by 6:30, 7 at the latest. You may want to just go to your room, drop your stuff and head right back to the bus stop to get to the park you want to get to.
