How Long Did It Take To Get Your Passport? Poll

For those of us still waiting, I was told that they are currently on January 15 applications.

Don't know if it's good news, But I called today. They told me they are working on the ones received on the 15th of January, couldn't give information on anything received after the 29th of January....:sad2:

I am very upset with Passport Canada. I decided to call again today to make sure that they did send it out, like I was told on Friday, and guess what..........

IT WASN'T!!! :scared1:

I am soooo mad, I told him that our Travel Date is April 1st (I was stretching it a little) and I was already told that it'd be mailed out on the 16th and it wasn't and then I was told it would for sure be in Mondays mail!!! Sure enough it's still in the print center...he was putting an urgent message si they'd rush it! Now I am stressing out!!!

:sad2: :sad1:

Well.... this thursday we'll be heading back to the passport office. Can't believe I've been at this since December!

I finally received my new birth certificate so I think that's all in order. I still don't understand the reasoning behind needing a birth certificate issued after 1994 if you were born in Quebec. anyways.... it's done and I have it so hopefully it'll go smoothly. We leave in 30 days. We'll be fine one way or another but I would feel better if we had them. We'll be driving across the border and flying domestic so they shouldn't say anything but I'd rather have them.

Wish us luck. I'll let you all know how it goes at the Ottawa office. When I went a month ago, it was only 1 hour 1/2 wait and we were out of there. At least we got the boys passports done that time. :)

Good luck to everyone else.

Waiting for passports has caused me the most stress out of all the aspects of planning for this vacation. ( I have also noticed alot more grey/gray hair since January)
Wishing you and everyone who is waiting good luck.

I am going to call again today to see how it is coming, considering it should have been in the mail on the 16th and I have the receipt to prove it!!! I am starting to stress a little bit....

Also was just advised by my MPP's office that as of today, they are indeed working on January 15 applcations. My DD's was rec'd Jan 17 sooooo hopefully this side of Christmas!?!?:rolleyes1

So Iacalled and was on hold for 50 minutes and then they picked up and I hear a DIAL TONE!!!!! Can you guess how mad I am???   Now I can't even get to the part to get on hold....

I FINALLY got back into the waiting line up...lets hope we do not have a repeat of this afternoon ;)

Well I finally got through and my passport was mailed and she said I should have it within a day or 2, if we don't have the passports by Friday to call the office back.

Good news that it was mailed, now I am not stressing as much!

Hi, i've been lurking for a while. Passport applied for at a service canada location on Jan 2, passport arrived on March 5, we were leaving march 9. I spent many mornings trying to get through to the 1-800 number right when they opened, and i found a trick that seems to work. After you press 1 for english, and 1 for living in canada, press 2 (lost or stolen passport) instead of 1 (status of application). I got put on hold every time. Was usually on hold for 30-45 min but at least i was on hold. Once i got through they didn't seem to know/care that i'd pressed a different number, and i got the info i needed. It's worth a try.

So I called last night and DH's passport is STILL in processing. He said he'd put a rush/urgent memo on it, hopefully when I call this evening they will say it was mailed. We will be in FL 2 weeks from today so we are leaving for Moncton in less then 2 weeks. As soon as the passport is mailed I won't stress as much!

On a more cheery note, my disney tickets might be at the travel agency today (She said Thursday) I am working now (I'm on my off period) but I am going to stop by after work!! Hopefully they are in :)

I will have to try that # trick and hit lost passport ...thanks

We applied at a Service Canada place in Ottawa on Jan 12th. We were going to fly to Orlando in March but decided to drive just incase they didn't arrive in time :happytv: . Good thing we made alternate arrangments, the passports arrived yesterday and we got home from Orlando 3 days ago ;). When we applied we were told 20 days for processing :confused3

Good luck to all of you who are waiting. I know how stressful it can be. :wizard:

We dropped our sons at a Service Canada (HRDC) office on Jan 26th. We paid for it at that time. We called today, it hasn't been started yet. We told her our travel date is April 30. We were advised to call back 2nd of April. They say that it takes 2 weeks to process it. I wonder what happens if there is an error in the application? Anyway, I just put a call into our MP, we're waiting on a return call to see if we can get a rush on this.

DH called today and his was mailed yesterday, when I called the system wasn't updated! I am so relieved!! Hopefully we will get them soon, so I can stop stressing ALL together!!

I GOT IT!! I GOT IT!! I finally have my passport in hand :) Came in the mail today  Now DH's should be in on Monday!! Yippie:cheer2:

Can anyone tell me how long the wait is to receive your passport through mail after your credit card has been charged. Mine was charged on March 21st and I am leaving on April 16th (last mail day is April 13th). Do you think that is enough time to receive it?

Thanks!
