I'm trying to log on to #1, buy my DH a ticket to join me next trip (I have an AP), and then #2, book the tequila tasting lunch for us (he would enjoy that, me I'm not a tequila person but it's something we can do together).

So, I'm sitting here, holding out my $470 for his ticket. Disney, your IT is lacking! Really, my 21 year old could help you guys! I can't even get on the site!

I'm a bit annoyed, but also sad for them that the #1 vacation destination in the world has such awful IT people.

Thanks for letting me rant. I keep trying, but luckily our FP doesn't open for a few days. I just wanted to get it all done so I can book our FP right on time.

Disney's IT sucks. Period. Front end, back end, consumer end, professional end. Sucks. My theory is that Disney is Disney and they don't care. It's not like people are going to stop coming, so they just don't care.

The app is down too. We’re here now and you can’t sign up. Keeps saying to check back later. So frustrating!

Calling won't work, their system is down, too. TA's are being told to call back "in a few hours" but........we aren't holding our breath! Yes it's SUPER ridiculous. DL and DCL down also

Today the site is not working in Chrome but IS working in Explorer for some reason. You may try a different browser.

Well never mind it no longer works in either browser.

Here come the "magical enhancements!" *eyeroll*

Wouldn't work on any browser for me two hours ago or now. All the money Disney has and my little non-profit has a better website than them... garbage

Could not get on in any way to modify our FP+ for this evening. Ugh! Just was able to log in a minute ago.

I have an RCCL cruise next month, Disney trip in September and MSC cruise in February and it honestly is a tie on which site is the absolute worse. I cringe EVERY.SINGLE.TIME I have to go on any of those sites. If our website and computers were that awful and un-user friendly at work, we would be cleaning out our IT department.

Since its inception a long time ago Disney's web presence has been really bad. IMHO, it's due to them not willing to pay going rates for good IT people. Imagineers are not very highly paid so I assume the same for everyone else.

And the good IT people they did have were laid off and replaced for pennies on the dollar. The website, app, etc. are living proof of “you get what you pay for”.

Sorry, I broke it. I called and modified my reservation for the bazillionth time and apparently it blew up. I got my confirmation email and went to log in and poof....:rotfl:

I'd like to learn more about this if you have background information. The monumental task of building this system was actually no small feat, and one that had never been accomplished before -- so it does make me sad that people are rightfully frustrated when things happen like today.

The kind of data that Disney works with is something I'd potentially want to explore in a career, so if you have more info it would be awesome. I'm totally aware that you don't go work for Disney to get rich, but I'm also interesting in loving what I do (but not if everyone else around me is understaffed and frustrated).

My DH applied to work in Disney’s IT Department back in 2004. He is a “Computer Systems Analyst”, but he does much more than the title suggests. He deals with these types of problems frequently for a large multi-location business. However, as said in this thread, it was obvious they weren’t willing to pay him what he was currently making at his job at home (different state). He would have had to take a significant pay cut, although I don’t know what it would have been exactly now. That was 14 years ago...

I tried to log on this morning. Twelve hours later & it's still down!

Edited to add: now I can get it to work with Firefox, but not Chrome.

The website and the app are working for me...I just made a few Fastpass selections, modified a dining reservation, and added a note to my itinerary on the website.

When I first go to My Disney Experience using safari/my phone (not the app), Stitch is there but when I select “My Itinerary”, it allows me to log in and everything is fine from that point on.

I remember reading about it a couple years ago in the news. One of the more controversial aspects was that affected staff wouldn't get their severance unless they agreed to train their replacements. Many of them sued the company, but (and this is news to me when I quickly googled just now) were ultimately unsuccessful.

Note- the articles touch on some political debate that Disney was dragged into as a result of this episode, but it's not my intention to turn this into a political discussion.

Edit- another article from 2 months ago, less political: http://www.mysuncoast.com/news/form...cle_06ee7014-53ee-11e8-acb3-5b46bdd5b960.html

I think it is a shame that a business the encourages guests to use it website and app as much as Disney is doing does not invest the money necessary to keep the darn thing up and running smoothly. Frankly, I knwo nothing about IT but I do know that in order to support the traffic that website supports, it needs to be beefed up.
