I understand that our PAT connects us to our boarding group, but I was wondering about how long it takes between boarding groups. We got the second earliest PAT.

Once they start announcing boarding numbers (generally around 11:15-11:30) they up the number about every 5-10 minutes, depending on how quickly the line is moving.
There are no breaks between groups. For example, first announcement is boarding groups 1 & 2. Then next announcement is boarding groups 1 through 3; 1 through 4; 1 through 5; etc.
Generally, it seems that each PAT has several boarding numbers assigned to it. So, for example, PAT window 10:30-10:45 would have boarding numbers 1 through 5; PAT window 10:45-11:00 would and numbers 6 through 10; and so on. No way of knowing what actual boarding number you might have within your window before hand.
It's hard to tell how many boarding #'s are in each PAT.
Boarding #1 and sometimes 2 will be assigned to Concierge and Platinum cruisers. They call a new # every 5-10 minutes. With a boarding time of 11:00-11;30 you should get a fairly low #. Maybe 8-10.
