How long beforehand should you get to a spot for the Block Party Bash on a Sunday afternoon (6/24)? We want to see Aladdin that day and it shows at 4:05 and 6:00. How long is the Block Party Bash? How long is Aladdin?

Depends on the time of year, but lots of time the Disney parades are packed and you can stroll up to the block party bash after it starts and be right up front.

Block Party Bash actually has two "show" areas in the same parade, and stops at each one for 10 - 15 minutes. The first stop is the Sunshine Plaza (at 5:15), and the second stop is over by the Golden Dreams theater (around 5:30). When we were there in early May (a slow weekend), Sunshine Plaza was already packed with people staking out spots when we arrived at 4:00, but even at 5:00 NO ONE was waiting over by Golden Dreams. Aladdin is around 40 minutes, so you could see them both in one of two ways (both will be a squeeze...)

1) Go to the 4:05 show of Aladdin, then afterwards dash over to the Golden Dreams area for Block Party Bash. The only problem here is that you have to go through Sunshine Plaze to get to Golden Dreams, and it will be packed with people waiting for Bash

2) Go to the 5:15 Bash at the Sunshine Plaza, and stake out a spot early towards the Hollywood Pictures Backlot side, and then when Bash is over RUN to the 6:00 show of Aladdin.

Personally, I'd go for option #1, because Aladdin is more of a must-do for me AND you can still enjoy Block Party Bash, even if you get there a little late.

Is Aladdin a must do for a three year old that wasn't crazy about the movie? I'm wondering if he'll sit through a live show. He loves the 3D shows but has never been to a live show b/c we didn't get to see Beauty and the Beast last year at WDW.-

Well, both of my sons (now 4 1/2 and 2 1/2) liked it, both this year and last(although the little one did get a little restless last year at 18 mos). Last year neither had seen the movie, this year I bought it before we went. Personally, I'd say see it with the expectation that you will like it (it's really good!), and that your son will be at least mildly entertained.

that will be our first day at the parks:) just to let you know that on the calender it shows that Aladdin will be showing Sun and not Mon or Tues and then starts again on Weds, BPB parade shows everyday, so we will be seeing the show on Sunday too..I have never seen the Aladdin show and am soooo looking forward to it, so sorry I can't comment on if a 3 yr old would like it:confused3

Onederland, where do you find this calendar that gives the days when Aladdin will be showing? Does it also give times? I will be there Aug. 2-3 & 7th. Thanks!

disneyscootergal, yeah the disneyland web site is where i got the info, but it looks like the entertainment schedule is not up yet for August.. i would give it a couple of weeks till they update it, so keep checking:surfweb:

Okay, I'll do that.

Thanks Onederland and Jacobsmommy!
