How long before ROFR?

We decided to pull the trigger and made an offer on 189 points at AKV (via the Timeshare Store) on August 21st and all the paperwork was faxed and sent, along with the check, on August 22nd. I know things are probably delayed due to the holiday but our check has been cashed and no word as to when the contract is going to ROFR. How long does that usually take? I'm super anxious to begin the wait! LOL

Disney can take 30 days but that doesn't include any delay by your broker.

Give your broker a call and ask them what's going on.

We made an offer on Fri 8/22, all paperwork was signed and emailed back and forth over the weekend and our broker told us it would go to ROFR on Mon 8/25. I would definitely call your broker to find out the status. Our contract was also on points for AKL...good luck and hope we both hear soon!

Thanks for the advice - I called them and it went to ROFR on 8/22!! Our broker was on vacation last week and no one sent the email when he was out. Good luck to both of us - waiting won't be easy!

We have a contract with Timeshare Store as well and went I to ROFR on 8/25. The wait is awful! I'm hoping we will hear before 30 days, but it seems Disney waits until the end of the 30 days. Fingers crossed for all of us!

We are on the exact same timeline. Deal made 8/21, sent to ROFR 8/22 (also with The Timeshare Store). I am assuming we will not find out until Monday Sept 22 base on looking at other people's timelines. But am still crossing my fingers we find out earlier!

ETA: Just received an email from the closing company about the closing process and documents to make sure all our information is correct.

Just to let you know (as another member did for me), ROFR is just the first step and it's actually one of the easy ones. I was SO excited to make it through ROFR - then the REAL waiting began. You are on a journey, but it's worth it in the end! I wish you all pixie dust!

We passed ROFR and it took 28 days! The wait is long. We are now working on closing. I sent ALL our closing docs today!

Here is my timeline so far:

July 15 made offer, received counter offer, accepted the offer, sent deposit

July 16 sent to ROFR

July 25 received closing docs to review

August 14 passed ROFR

August 29 received final closing docs

Sept. 2 lawyer signed and sealed docs

Sept. 3 xpress post.. sent all docs to be closed including final cash required

What makes you think you won't pass? I am nervous about ours too. My husband tells me not to stress about it but I hate the thought of waiting 30 days just to find out we didn't pass and have to start the process over. Our contract was pretty loaded (400 points available currently) so I'm afraid Disney will take ours too.

Yes...it's the loaded thing that makes me nervous for us too! 106 pts from 2013 and 150 from 2014 and the sellers are paying all the maintenance fees on them.

I keep telling myself we will just bid on another...which we will, but timing wise if we have to start over that will mess with my 7 month window.

I am tracking my docs via Xpress post! They have arrived at an international destination. We are getting closer. I assume they will arrive no later then Tues of next week. Next step the final close! I can't wait to see that little member card with our names on it! I can't wait to take a look at the site and study my options and plan a 2015 trip! We will be in Disney Oct 26/14 at AKV on rented points. Thanks to a member on here!

I also passed with a loaded contract at AKV. 499 points available in December 2014 on a 250 point contract. Seller paid all maintenance fees as well.

I'll add myself to the list of those of us not so patiently waiting! Mine went to Disney on 8/26. I have a trip scheduled for 11/8 (non DVC), and really want to have everything approved by then so I can upgrade my ticket to an annual pass at the DVC rate!

If you don't hear today, I'd expect to hear back on Tuesday. Yes, there are reports of 32-35 days in ROFR.
