How long at the airport do you wait?

On the return journey from Disney to Beauvais I'm tyring to work out what time to leave.

The flight goes at 22:55 and I think we're approx 90 mins away - so 20:00 would be ok I think.

This would get us to the airport for approx 21:30 - 1.5 hours before flight. Do you think this is doable?

Last year we spent nearly a full morning at CDG waiting on our flight and it seems an absolute waste of time.

How long do you generally spend in the airport before the flight goes?

If you're taking a shuttle transfer back to Beauvais, don't the shuttle company decide when they will pick you up?

Yes, I suppose they would. But last time we left DLP at 8:30am for a 12:05 flight. We were at the airport for about 9:20 and sat about for ages.

Obviously I don't want to risk missing the flight/being late - but I just wondered with Beauvais being a smaller airport if you needed to be there quite so early.

I've found the shuttle firm's always told us what time they'll pick us up. I've just looked at our email for last summer and we were picked up at 6pm for a 9:20pm flight from Orly which I think is roughly the same travel time as CDG.

I think we were there just before 7pm, I know it was quite a while until check-in opened but I'd much rather that than be sat in traffic worrying myself sick.

Beauvais is tiny which is great because you walk in right at the check in desks so you could arrive less then 2 hours before your flight time but I would say your shuttle company will be apprehensive about this as it is a longer journey and has the potencial for more traffic issues but I think it will depend on the day and their guess on how busy the roads will be (if its during holidays, midweek/weekend, a bad time of day to travel those routes, road works etc.).

But being a tiny airport its also a woeful place to be waiting as the shop isnt big and theres a lack of seating, boredom sets in fast!

RS transports did change our collection time for us before - they normally collect us at 6.30pm but stretched it out to 7.30pm and we made it in loads of time. The gates (& security) are just to the left of check in so no mad sprint if you are pushed for time.

That's what I was thinking....

I'll check with the transport company, undecided yet between shared shuttle with RS Transports and Ezyshuttle - Ezyshuttle were outstanding from CDG last year, and I'm tempted to pay a bit more for them as there service had been so good. Sore head time
