How long at Aquarium of the Pacific?

DH, my DD's and I are driving down to Disneyland in August. We want to go to Aquarium of the Pacific, but we're undecided if we want to do it the first day, or the last. DH wants to do it on the day we arrive at the hotel. We're staying at Howard Johnson. I don't want to do that because I thought it would be nice to rest at the pool and stroll around Downtown Disney. I know check in isn't until 4, but I'd still like those hours to rest. But if I thought we'd be at the aquarium only a couple hours, I might consider doing it the first day.

We went there a few years back. 2 hours would get you close to getting through it. You may want to look at more like 3 to 4 though just to make sure you have time to see it all. And that would include not going to any of the shows they have, if you want to do those then add more time, we chose not to see any shows and we did that and did a cruise of the harbor all in an afternoon in about 5 hours and then headed back to Disneyland.

Captain EIEIO is exactly right. It's a great aquarium, but not a huge one. A leisurely trip through, taking your time at all of the exhibits, would take no more than a couple of hours. You can add more time to watch an IMAX movie or have a meal, but at the outside it's a half-day experience.
