We get to WDW ON JAN 9, 2016!! We will be in parks on 10-14!! How long do you think lines will be that week

That's one of the slowest periods for WDW. You shouldn't have any problem with crowds.

Thanks! I was asking bc were about to pick our fast passes soon and I didn't know if lines for the big popular rides would be longer than 20 mins... If not, then I wouldn't worry about too many fp, but about 20/30 mins is our limit on waiting without them. We have 4 kids under 10.

we were at WDW for most all of Jan 2015

The crowds were very sporadic. There was a Run Disney race event at the start...crowds were high 7DMT wait time for the couple of days of the event was 380min all day

once the Race was over....did notice a drop in crowds
but still had decent wait times on all the "major" attractions. Less popular ones were small wait times.

We did notice though once the race was over....the parks slowly flooded with large school groups from overseas. Don't know what they were one looked like a sports team
but there were at least a dozen different ones.
only took notice of them as they loved to stand around in large circles chanting...which they often block traffic flow or would gather out in front of the major attractions. Was a bit difficult to get around them

the weekdays were not as bad as the weekends (of course)

and it really depended upon what park you were in
Epcot was fine we really never took much notice of large crowds

AK was good from EMH to afternoon
whilst we were there allot of construction was going on and the walls were up everywhere. Traffic and crowd flow was MAJOR affected. One section you had no choice to go back the way you came...fitting against the traffic waiting to go against you

MK was always busy (but that's pretty much a given)

week of the 12th was the slowest we saw for crowds

around the week of the 19th crowds started picking up again

all in all it was not bad as everyone makes it out
we did everything we wanted to do and more
and were able to ride everything multiple times

Marathon weekend starts the 6th and goes until the 10th. I will be there for the event, we arrive the 5th and leave the 11th. Marathon weekend brings in thousands of runners from around the world and you will notice an influx during that time. The crowds should start dropping around the 12th. However it is nowhere near Christmas or peak summer crowds.

Thank you all!! Big help!! We have been 12+ times in summer, fall, and spring, but we've never been in January. So I didn't know what to expect! The crowd calendars on all the different websites all say low crowds so I didn't know how accurate those were!! We're use to a decent crowd. We were just hoping it was busy busy!! We were planning on being in parks on weekdays. I really don't care bc I will be at DISNEY!!:)

the crowds are lighter, but still make sure to get fast passes for the big attractions you want to see. We have seen big wait times in Jan. Its not going to be all walk on's all the time.

Important thing to remember is that even "low" season at WDW is pretty busy, if I was you I would get those fastpasses in for the E Ticket attractions. It doesn't hurt and you can always cancel them at a later date if you see fit :)
