How long after a perm, can you get another

perm? I got one about 1 month ago and it's almost gone already. Can I get another one now?

I wouldn't. A good perm should last 3-4 months unless your hair grows very fast. If your perm fell out that quickly the person doing it did not process it long enough.

I would wait another few weeks and then get another one. If you go to the same person be sure to tell him/her how fast this one fell out so they can process it longer.

Usually they say 3-4 months. I used to get perms that would last for like a year, because I just have this weird hair that would hold onto a perm like you wouldn't believe!!!!!

I get perms about every 4 months. Usually get 2 cuts, about 6 weeks apart.

There are other reasons for a perm not lasting besides it not being processed long enough. I would go back to the stylist that did it and ask them about it. They may re perm it at no charge depending on the cause of it not lasting. If your hair is healthy ( no color either lighter or darker then natural) and no highlights you should be able to re perm now. Again the stylist should know if your hair is healthy enough. On short hair a perm should last 3 to 4 months on long hair it should stay until cut out but re growth will need done in 3 to 4 months.

I agree with Dana. I'd call and talk to the stylist and see about coming back in for her to look at it. It could have been time processed, rod size, type of perm solution used, rinsing technique (always a biggie!!), blotting or neutralizing. She may not be real happy about it--no one wants to redo a perm very much but a satisfied client can mean more in the long run. It may have taken well enough that you will NOT want to redo it at this time. But, I think it is worth going in & having her look at it.
Good luck. Perms are too expensive and time consuming to not last more than one month.
