how long a stay before you would unpack?

Last November my sister-in-law, her husband, and 2 kids stayed in one room at the Swan, and I stayed solo in another. We were both there one week. I put my clothes in the drawers and closet, and my sister-in-law's family lived out of their suitcases. When I went to their room, their suitcases were on the chairs and on the floor. It would drive me nuts to have the clutter of 4 peoples' suitcases all over the room!

Nancy - I'll make sure Im unpacked and suitcases put away in the closet! I may even leave you a drawer and space on the sink!

I like to unpack when we are going to be there longer than 3 nights - we took a family trip in July 06 for 11 nights and I had to unpack. We were going to be there for the better part of two weeks and I had to unpack so that we could find everything easily and function. That being said I went with my BFF and her DH in Oct. 06 fior MNSSHP for 3 nights and it was just easier for me to leave everything - except for toiletries - in my suitcase.

We are leaving in 38 days for our 10 night family trip for MVMCP :santa: and I def will be unpacking the first night we are there ;)

I almost never unpack. No matter how long I am staying. I will usually put my suitcase in the closet, or somewhere out of sight and just live out of it. Ive just always done that. I guess I am also afraid of leaving something behind in a drawer I guess. The sweetpea will unpack if I tell her to. I usually dont' though. DBF on the other hand always unpacks. Its hard for us to share a room away though. I generally over pack and live our of my bags, while he unpacks everything away and has just the right amount of stuff.

Sometimes I think of unpacking, but I usually am to excited and just forget about it. Then, I think its too late and just go with it. Plus, Im a procrasitnator, so not unpacking is ok with me. Makes it easier to keep things in their bags and not have to re pack. Plus, I know that the weight is even for all my bags and nothing will be over at the airport check in.

But then you have to re-pack as well!! :headache: QUOTE]

Headache, why?? It takes me less time to pack than to unpack.
How can so many people here leave all their clothes in a suitcase, it boggles my mind. Clothes get wrinkled enough just on the trip to WDW.

3 words....Downy Wrinkle Releaser...it works wonders! Ive even turned my hubby into a believer! LOL

But even without it, when Im on vaca, I dont worry about anything, much less wrinkels :cool1:

I always unpack, maybe not for a one night stay, but anything longer than that I do. Then I use the largest suitcase for dirty clothes -- take them off, through them in the suitcase. When we're ready to go home, I put the still clean clothing (if any) from the drawers in the empty suitcase along with shoes, toiletries, etc.. All of the dirty clothing is already in one suitcase, which I simply zip up and go. When I get home, the suitcase with the dirty clothing stops at the laundry room and the suitcase with clean clothing goes to the bedroom.

I put all the suitcases in the closet or out of the way -- I can not deal with all kinds of clutter all over the room.

Sarah..........

When it comes to clothes, I am a slow unpacker. I try to do it as soon as I get there but it never happens. It ends up being the first night when I am getting the clothes ready for the next day or the second day...

But Im a virgo :rolleyes1 so I packing is a chore in itself before we leave... everything is matched before hand, everyone knows what they are wearing and its always rolled into my bags... so unpacking is never a chore its just when I feel like doing it. popcorn::

We don't unpack..we do hang clothes up. NEVER put them in the drawers. Too many stories about bed bugs and the way they've had a resurgence in our country from foreign travel. I've seen alot of foreign travelers in Disney resorts. It's a big problem here in NYC...from dump to deluxe..it matters not. I check any room ..whether it's at Disney or elsewhere. The walls for tell tale signs and needless to say but under the mattress between box springs and behind head boards..as best I can. Also don't lay on top of the bedspreads..they aren't washed after each guest. They are washed periodically a section of the hotel at a time. I'm by no means a germ-a-phobe...I'm not spraying lysol..or wiping everthing down. I've just read a bit too much about how people on cruises and elsewhere have lost there furniture to these things by bringing home the little souveniers.

I must confess--I'M AN UNPACKER!! :scared1:
I like to get everthing out of the suitcase and
hide the suitcases somewhere.
I find it much easier to find what I am looking for
without pulling one thing out and everything coming out.
We have 3 in our family and each get a drawer or two.:wizard:
We've never encountered any beg bugs!!;)

Ok I"ll admit a big part is because I have allergies but honestly I've seen dust bunnies and then some in drawers that I dont want my clean clothes touching I only unpack toiletries, shoes and hang a few things that may wrinkle otherwise it stays in my luggage.
