at BCV in early june through august if you have to wait till the 7month to book ressies? I was looking at HH and the cost per point is so much less that financially it seems the best route to go. But then there's the 2054 date with SSR.

I think most people on the DIS would advise you to buy were you want to stay. With that being said, I think the summer months are slower times for DVC. It might be easier to get reservations for that time period at the 7 month mark. Hopefuly a DVC veteran will be along shortly to correct me if I'm wrong about this.

Sorry to complicate things, but also keep in mind the annual maintenance fees (MF) for each resort. While the HH cost per point may be less than SSR, SSR, for now, has the lowest MFs.

As a new member, I am sorry that I can not shed light on your original question.

If you can vacation mid to late August then you might be able to get a 2 BR at BCV more easily than June or July. The trick is that the southern kids go back to school at the beginning of August. Also most people try to save their points and go for the studio or 1 BR which makes getting a 2 BR easier.

We were able to get a 2BR at the 7 mo window last year for that time of the year and we'll probably try again for this year too.

My belief is that people are not paying a $10 a point premium for BCV points to not take advantage of their home resort window the majority of the time. I think it will continue to get harder to book BCV at seven months year round.

That said, people who are willing to get on the phone at first thing in the morning and book day by day and make use of the waitlist may have luck. That's way to stressful for me.

Be prepared for the possibility that as a few years go by and DVC adds a zillion more rooms to its inventory at Animal Kingdom, the Contemporary or whatever, those 7 month BCV rooms will be harder and harder to book. You might find yourself summering at HH every year whether you want to or not.
