how likely to get 1 bdrm at Aulani at 7 month window

Looking at a future trip for October 2014 and would like to try the New Aulani resort. It seems that the 7 month window is pretty booked up (for July right now)

Trying to see about a potential trade or transfer with someone from Aulani that has an 11 month window, but i don't see a lot of people on the rent/trade boards.

Beach Club is usually pretty desirable for Food and Wine at the same time, so I can always use that as my back up, just want to do something different.

Any suggestions?

Contacted timeshare store and was told they haven't had any Aulani points to rent.

Any recommendations?

I wouldn't worry about it. That's a slower time of year. We went at the end of September this year and we had no problems getting a one bedroom.

We were able to rent points for an Aulani OV studio 1 month before our trip in October. It was a last minute extension to an already planned Hawaii trip. We weren't expecting to find availability, but apparently there was!

Thanks! that is quite reassuring. Makes it much easier to wait if i need to. I'll probably book Beach Club as a back up anyway and if Aulani is available i can easily cancel to get my points back and make a switch.
Now I just need to build up those frequent flier points to get free air. GRIN

We were able to snag a 1BR OV villa at Aulani 7 months out for this past August. My advice is to be flexible and take what is available as the resort can fill quickly.

We went last month. Booked a studio 6 months out. A one bedroom was available.

Four months out we needed to add a day PRIOR to arrival. One bedroom was available.

Rights now the 7 month window is for June so you are looking at one of the busiest times of year for Aulani. October will be quieter.

We booked Aulani studio second week of June at 7 months no problem. All views were available plus 1 brs.

I'm guessing you should have a good chance of getting that one bdrm. I just booked this weekend a 2 bdrm for April during my kids spring break. All options were available except standard view. I also booked a studio for my sister in law. They have an island view for the first 5 nights, then an ocean view for the 6th night and then back to an island view for the 7th night. So they will have to make some room changes. But after talking to them, they'd rather have a room booked for each night vs waitlisting the one night that wasn't available. So just be open to different options should you need to!

You will have no problem if next year is anything like this year. This October, there were 1BR available *one day* before arrival in most cases. Ocean View filled up last. You could have gotten Ocean View with one day notice for any day except the 11th-17th. I've only been tracking availability since mid-September, but at that time, the most heavily-booked room was the Poolside Gardens View, which still had 20 out of 31 dates available.

I have a pet project going at ******.com to track availability at the DVC resorts. I should probably add "availability history" at some point. For now, I got that data just by looking in my database.

I agree that October at 7 months out should be MUCH easier than booking summer or a holiday week.

I booked at 7 months out for the Wednesday before Easter 2013, and I only had enough points for the lower two categories in a two bedroom, or some of the one bedrooms. We really wanted the two bedroom due to the two bathrooms. I had to waitlist the two bedroom, and didn't have enough points for the ocean view one bedroom. After the CM put me on the waitlist, she saw that it cleared while we were still chatting on the phone. So that worked out and it was April 2013.
