How likely is TOTWL to be full?

We are planning to visit Top of the World Lounge (TOTWL) on our upcoming trip in late May. I wanted to try to view the fireworks up there and ordering some food. How likely is it to actually fill up before the fireworks? Has anyone actually experienced being turned away from TOTWL due to it being at capacity? I'm going to go mid-week so it isn't really a peak time. I was hoping to just get there 45-30 mins before the fireworks start but I don't want to be turned away. Thanks!

With the new MK fireworks starting in mid May, there may be a lot of people who want to watch from TOTWL. On the other hand, since the fireworks are new, maybe people actually will want to see them from inside the park rather than the lounge. I guess what I'm saying is that this could easily go either way. I've never seen it terribly full up there, but if you could I'd go earlier to enjoy a drink beforehand.

The observation deck as a occupancy limit of 499. I doubt that they get anywhere close to that on most nights.

So even if the inside lounge is full they will still allow people to go up and hang out on the observation deck? The lounge itself doesn't look too large in the photos which is why I was concerned. Thanks for the input!

The actual lounge has an stated occupancy of around 77. They use the observation deck limit to determine when to stop sending people up.

We have been there during DVC high seasons, not holiday nights at least 7 times. We have never seen a capacity issue.

I don't recall anyone ever reporting that they were turned away due to capacity.

Remember that the highest demand "fireworks dates" (such as NYE & July 4th and generally the nights immediately before) are blocked to anyone who isn't a member actually staying at BLT. You can find a list of blackout dates on the Members' website).

Thank you, I'm not going during black out dates. Looking forward to checking it out!
If you want to get cocktails and food, I would recommend getting there at about the 90 minute mark. While there is typically viewing space, getting a spot for food and cocktails can be limited prior to the fireworks.

For food or drinks plan to be there either an hour plus ahead of time or just plan to stay afterwards as it clears out after fireworks.

As for getting up there? You'll have no issues.

I agree with the hour to 90 minutes before. We went before and couldn't get a seat for apps and drinks

I was wondering how early to get there too. We have gone before, 45 min, then an hour, and all seats/inside was full and there were a few milling about outside as well. One day we will get to enjoy food/drinks there but my question is what do you do for 90 minutes...I am not much a drinker?
