I know weather is so unpredictable, but I was just wondering if normally you can swim the end of Dec. TIA :santa:

Most places heat the pools to 85 degrees so swimming is always an option. I know Disney resorts heat their pools!

I would say this is definitely it depends answer. For me a native floridian the end of December is usually way tooooo cold to swim. Northerners might be able to stand it. When it starts dipping below 60 I head for the heater. Also even though the pools are heated, getting out of the pool will be cold. Make sure you have a big towel to wrap all the way around you, especially any kids or you could get the chills. Good luck.

I agree with dlnsmmy1. I'm from NJ and the weather was perfect for swimming and shorts during the day for us, jeans and t-shirt at night. My family from FL thought we were nuts. They showed up for a park night with us dressed in wool coats, hats, gloves and scarves.

It can depend on the day, too. It can be warm or cool at that time of year.

Personally I'm not "inspired" to swim when the air temp isn't warm, but there are those (especially kids) who won't care about that as long as the water is warm.

I am going 12/16 - 12/25 and will be packing a swim suit. Will I use it? Maybe one or two days, or maybe not. But it doesn't take up much room, and I want to be prepared.

My DH and DS did when we were there in December, but I wasn't brave enouigh. The outside temp was around 70... The next day the high was 50, so it's really hit or miss. :)

We have gone twice the first week of December, and I thought it was too cold at night, but perhaps during the day is fine.

We've been in December several times and there is no way the GF heats their pools to 85. I think 2 or 3 years ago the temp in the quiet pool was about 70 - FREEZING!!!

I'd say your chances are 50-50. The weather varies so widely that time of year - there have been many days that we've been in the pool and it was 85 out and the next day it was 50 degrees. We bring bathing suits and sweatshirts and usually use both each trip.

we went 11/28/06 to 12/05/06 last year and swam almost every nite at the por quiet pool it was great:cool1:

We swam and/or hot tubbed every night when we were there this year 1/4-1/13. Some evenings were quite a bit cooler than others, but the water was still pleasant.

We are swimming with the Dolphins at Discovery Cove. So, Yes you can swim in December!

I would have to say that it depends on your timing. When we went in Christmas the weather went back and forth. We could swim one day and not the next. It never dipped below 60 degrees!
