How likely is it to get a 7DMT FP right before we go to MK?

There will be 4 of us going to WDW in a week and even though I signed up for FPs right at 7 am on the 60 day mark, I was not able to get one for the 7DMT. I've read on here that some people have had luck with randomly finding a FP for that right the week before they leave or even on the day of being at MK. So is it likely that if I just keep searching I will eventually find a FP or is it just kind of "right place/right time" sort of thing?

Yes they do pop up, but At your convenient time, for 4? Not really thinking so.
But I’d not give up. First thing at opening or Before park closing ( our choice) when we can’t Fp. We ve not been disappointed, yes you ll wait.. ignore the time signage but you ll got on.

You will need some luck and will have to stare at your phone more than you probably want to.

Night before will be the best chance to get them in advance. You can still look anytime in advance and can get lucky but that's when the most movement will happen.

Keep trying! I've been checking a few times a day to see if I can get lucky enough to move our SDMT FP time. About a week and a half ago, there was a 2:30 SDMT FP for 4 available for 8/28 that sat there for the better part of a day. I checked at 8 am and again at 3 pm and it still showed that availability. You might get lucky!! Good luck to you!!

Last year when we were there we had EMM plans for TSL the next morning. We were at DHS for dinner and it rained so we were able to do TSL with little or no wait so we canceled the EMM. We decided to go to MK the next day instead. While waiting for them to ride TSMM the second time I got SDMT for 6. I had a harder time getting Peter Pan. I got 5 then was able to get an overlapping time the next day (day of). People change plans all the time.

You may wish to break your group down and look for a group or 2 or even 1 at a time.

It's not an easy task.

It is insane how much the popular attractions fill up. I was the same way .. right at 7am ... 61 days out .. not a SINGLE time for SDMT available .. but EVERY other attraction had plenty of times available in the early morning.

I dont think it is worth spending the time checking to see if one frees up. I doubt it will.
As there is no penalty for not using a FP . not many people will cancel them .. especially for such a high demand attraction.

People will cancel or change their plans. Keep checking, especially when you are within that 48-hour window. That's when I usually have the best luck of finding those last minute dropped FP's or I'm able to shift my current FP's to a better time.

I currently have a 3:45-4:45pm for Sunday (it's our #3 FP+). I would love to be able to move it up to before our current #1 so I can start looking for additional fastpasses earlier! I've just started checking periodically today, but plan to continue checking until the very end lol. Good luck!

I was there last week and outside of slinkydog, I had no trouble getting anything I wanted (group of 2 or 3 depending on the day). I even got FOP several times. Some persistence is required, but we make it our waiting in line game.

Yes, we were there this week, and on a few occasions, I did see mine train pop up mid day for our party of 3. However, we are fanatical refreshers. I was constantly refreshing while in line or taking breaks. I saw every ride at MK pop up at some point.

I just picked this up a few minutes ago, it’s very possible to find them. This was exactly the time I needed as well and the 2nd one I’ve picked up today. That said, I’m free to spend a great deal of time stalking and I’m only looking for 2, so that helps a great deal. I usually devote a couple of days checking at the top of the hour all day long. Pounding the app is just too boring for me. I booked this trip just a week ago so missed SDMT, FOP and SDD. I’ve picked up this as well as FOP, still working on SDD.
