How likely for walk up Le Cellier?

Is this during free dining ? If so, sorry, but not a chance...

I agree that since it's during the free dining period, the chance went from
slim all the down to none. I think if the kid can sleep in the restaurant, keep
the ADR.

Here is our scenario:

We have a late flight in Sept 1st, and Sept 2nd we have a Le Cellier lunch reservation at 11:30 I think. This is pretty much the only place DH really wants to go, but he's willing to let it go if DD (18mo) sleeps in to such a degree that we miss it. He says he doesn't want to check if there is anything else available before we go, he thinks it will be easy to get a walk up lunch while we're there thru the 10th. I'm of the belief that this won't be possible. Can someone advise? Thanks.

Walk ups get turned away on a regular basis at LeCellier and since the start of the DDP at many other table service places as well.

Good idea to bring her and let her sleep. Le Cellier remains one of the top dining locations in Disney World. :cool1:

We have tried the past 2 years to get in as "walk-ups" to Le Cellier... for my oldest son's 14th and 15th birthdays. Didn't happen.

This year we finally have ADRs and we are pretty excited...just 4 days before oldest son's 16th birthday. Could a restaurant really be this good? We have been once (2002) and we all remember it as the best meal of the trip. Is it still? ....I'll let you know around the middle of September.

pixiedust: PIXIEDUST!!

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: Slim to none and Slim just left town, to use one of my granny's sayings. We eat at Le Cellier every trip, but I also call at 6:00am at exactly 180 days out, and that's the first ADR I blurt out to the CM. I don't think I've ever been to Le Cellier that I didn't hear the same spiel about 'not taking walk ups and fully booked for the next three months'.

In fact, despite showing up early every time, I've never even gotten inside until past my scheduled ADR time.

Your chances for getting in are not very good at all. I have been calling everyday to get an adr for our next trip and it is booked soild.

We were there in May for dinner and early for our ressie, typically I book when thy first open and they told several ppl who tried to walk up that for dinner they MAY have some avaliability but you had to be right there and honestly I know that 2 parties did get in right at opening.

I will also say that they got a phone call directly to LeCellier, a reservation she was saying and how many in your party? For 7:30, yes sir we can do that - I figured it was a higher up, but I thought that was interesting!

Living where we do we often pop in to the parks on a last-minute whim. This morning we got seated at the Crystal Palace for breakfast with no wait.

While Le Cellier is very popular and difficult to get a table, it's not impossible if you go early for lunch. It also helps if your group is small. They do leave some breathing room for walk-ins when they first open the doors.

If we can't get into Le Cellier, we just walk a short ways to the Rose and Crown and usually get seated pretty quick. After 21 years we've learned to be flexible. On major holidays it can be impossible, but we even went to Epcot on Christmas Day a few years ago and got seated at the Coral Reef for lunch and the Biergarten for dinner without much wait at all.

Not only is Sept. 1-2 free dining time... it's Labor Day weekend. I was there last Labor Day weekend and the parks were packed... the drop off in crowds from the holiday weekend to the Tuesday following, was dramatic. So, in short, the always impossible Le Cellier (I'm going in late Sept. and wasn't able to get an ADR when I called in May :headache: ) will likely be even harder on a holiday weekend.

Unfortunately, it's only slightly more likely than winning the Powerball (or MegaMillions, whichever is in your area)... on a day when you've forgotten to buy a ticket. Mike Scopa has a live blog going on Allears.net where he recently talked about having lunch at Le Cellier and overhearing CM's talking about how the restaurant is booked solid through til (or perhaps into, can't remember) January. Sorry.

Enjoy the Magic anyway!
