Here is our scenario:

We have a late flight in Sept 1st, and Sept 2nd we have a Le Cellier lunch reservation at 11:30 I think. This is pretty much the only place DH really wants to go, but he's willing to let it go if DD (18mo) sleeps in to such a degree that we miss it. He says he doesn't want to check if there is anything else available before we go, he thinks it will be easy to get a walk up lunch while we're there thru the 10th. I'm of the belief that this won't be possible. Can someone advise? Thanks.

we have gone in Feb, april, june, and oct and every time we have gone they were turning walk ups away. so i would not count on getting a walk up.

Not Very. Have been trying to get anything lunch or dinner for that week since April with no luck yet.:sad2:

We have tried this a few times, the only time we got lucky was right when it opened for dinner. Were we lucky? Maybe..but it worked for us. The other times were a no go.

Every time I have called close to the day they never had anything and every time I have been eating there they have been turning people away. It couldn't hurt to try though..perhaps right when they are opening for dinner. :goodvibes

Tell Hubby if his name is Eisner, he might be able to get a walkup lunch at Le Cellier. Otherwise, it ain't gonna happen.

Doubt it. We had an 11:30 ADR for lunch at LeCellier in May, which is right when they open. They were not taking any walkups that day; a couple of people came in and asked while we were waiting, and they were completely full and taking no one without ADRs.

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: walk up to Le Cellier :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Sorry I couldn't resist. I'd say maybe a 5% chance of just walking up and getting in. Good luck!

fuhgeddaboudit.

Of course you could always try. You might get lucky. VERY lucky.

Are you going to cancel the ADR if you don't make it?

No way - especially since they've started overbooking the restaurants due to the closure in Japan.

I also have to ask - you have an 18 month old that could sleep in till 11:30! Even if we stayed out really late, I'd be lucky of mine slept past 7:30am.

I don't think they'd let even Eisner do that :rotfl:

Now if your name was Iger... or Depp...

We were there last Monday and they were telling walk-ups that the next opening is in January. :confused3

We are from the west coast, so 11:30am would really be 8:30am for us, and our flight doesn't get in until late the night before. Normally DD would be up bright and early, but I don't think it is out of reason to think she might sleep in. But, I think we will just wake her up, have her sleep in the resteraunt and afterwards as well. We knew Le Celier was booked solid (the reason for our ADR's).

Unfortunately Le Cellier is one of the hardest places to get a walk-up for.

Good idea...keep that ADR,girlfiend!! The food is so worth it! We booked our ADR in early Jan. for our April trip. Husband would recommend the duck app. and dd & I loved the cheddar cheese soup app. and of course, we all had steak! Can I say..Creme Brulee..(even if I didn't spell it correctly).
They were turning people(walk-ins) away and heard them mention on the phone(with a slight laugh) that they were booked until Oct.
Good luck..hope you make your ADR. Enjoy it for the rest of us @ home dreaming.

We had ADRs for lunch this past June and they were informing people that day that they were not taking walkups.:sad2:

We were there last year and did not have reservations we tried everyday from Nov 27 to December 6 and finally got in for lunch on the 6th. It only takes a few minutes to see if anything later is available, I would try.
