Here is the situation.....

We have a condo from Saturday on....

But due to no fault of our own, an event had to be re-scheduled for the same Saturday and my son needs to attend in order to get his award for advancing to boyscouts.

They haven't told us yet what time the event will be finished, so I haven't called the condo to reserve our room an additional day.

We are trying to determine how late is just going to be too late.

It is an 8 hour trip and we could make it in 8.5 to 9 if we hussle and eat in the car, etc...

If we leave by 2pm from here, we would get in between midnight and 1am.

Would you do it? Or would you just get up early the next day?

We typically go to bed by 11pm at the latest, so I don't want to push it.

Why not drive about half way on Saturday and then maybe the last 4 hours early Sunday...that way you aren't too tired either day. We drove from NC to Darien, GA last year, stayed the night, got up early the next morning, free breakfast at the Comfort Inn and drove the rest the next day. Nobody was worn out from being in the car too long or too tired from arriving so late at night.

Well, because we still have to pay for Saturday night at the location we have already rented....

I think we have figured it out.

Found out we can leave by noon....I think we will be ok.

Whew.
