Does anyone know what time Kona Cafe stops serving breakfast?

My boyfriend and I do not like getting up early, especially on vacation! But I really want to try the Tonga Toast! It looks so good, I'd get up at the crack of dawn for it! But I don't think there's any food my boyfriend would wake up early for! So I'm wondering... what is the latest we could go to Kona and still get breakfast?

I believe their latest seating for breakfast service is around 10:30.

They also serve Tonga Toast (just without the strawberry sauce) at Captain Cook's counter service downstairs, also until about 10:30-10:45.

Thank you! I went ahead and made an ADR for 10:30 on the day we're going to MK. I'm still not 100% sure if we'll go or not... but at least now we have the option and if closer to our trip we decide it's not something we want to do, we can cancel the ADR. And if we decide to cancel, then on that day realize we really do want that Tonga Toast... it's good to know we can get some at Captain Cook's!

Any idea how long it would take to get from POFQ to Poly? I'm trying to figure out what time we'd need to wake up to make that 10:30 rezzie!

I would like the answer to that, too. We are staying at POFQ and having Kona breakfast on our last day. Tell your bf not to feel too bad, I am making my husband make the EARLIEST reservation at 7:35. :scared1::laughing:

Hmmm... maybe I should tell him I could only get a 7:35 reservation. Then the night before be like, "Oh! A 10:30 reservation opened up at the last minute! Isn't that amazing?" So that way he feels like he's sleeping in and not waking up early! ;)

It's not a terrible commute. Just take the bus to the Magic Kingdom and transfer to the resort monorail. I suspect it wouldn't take longer than 45 minutes, depending on how quick the initial bus comes.

For a 10:30, I'd leave POFQ no later than 9:30-9:40 on a bus for MK, then hop on the boat from MK to the Poly (you could do monorail too, but this might take a little longer - the platform is farther away from the buses than the boat dock, and the monorail stops at the Contemporary and the TTC before getting to the Poly). The bus ride from POFQ to MK is around 20 minutes.

For the 7:35, you're on taxi alert. A $20 taxi ride begun at POFQ by 7:15 will land you at the Poly just in time. Otherwise, you're looking at needing an MK bus by 6:30-6:40. They do run early for character breakfasts (there is one at Ohana next door to Kona in the Poly), but are sporadic and not to be depended on for reliable, on-time delivery. I for one would not deal with that kind of commuting stress that early in the morning if I could avoid it. If you decide on a taxi and there is not one waiting outside the hotel lobby when you need it (they seem always to be there, though) - the concierge or bell services desk can summon one for you.

Kona serves breakfast until 11:15. Lunch begins at noon.

I would allow an hour for the commute as you just never know. The small launch is a fun way to travel. It goes to the GF before the Polynesian. Besides the monorail, a third travel option from the MK is the large ferry. If you walk by just as it is finishing loading, it crosses in 5 minutes. Then you would need to walk to the main building of the Polynesian....less than a 10 minute walk. The ferry is the closest option to the buses.

Enjoy! :cool1:

Thanks everyone!!! Yeah, leaving at 9:30 definitely sounds very doable! Tonga Toast here I come!

Thanks! I do believe we will be taking a taxi. We might commute via Disney Transport back to POFQ after breakfast and browsing around the Poly, but I agree with you on the early commuting stress. No thanks!
