How late can you arrive at the parks for night EMH?

In other words, if the park closes at midnight, and the extra hours run from then until say 3:00 a.m., can you get to the park ANY time between midnight and 3:00 a.m. and still be allowed in? Or, do you have to be already AT the park before the official closing time? From what I've been reading, alot of people say it's a good thing to avoid the park that has any EMH's. However, alot of other people insist that the night time EMH's are worthwhile. My plan is to avoid the park during the day, but then get there as late as I can to take advantage of the night time EMH (maybe arrive right after the park closes to the general public.) Does that sound like a plan that would work?

I took advantage of two EMH nights at MK last August and one EMH night at Epcot. Epcot was pretty packed the whole time I was there- but I also didn't stay until the end. At MK, we stayed the whole EMH one night, which was awesome as everything was basically walk-on at the end of the night (I think it was opened until 2 or 3). The other night, we decided to head out about an hour before EMH was over and there were people still coming in at that time.

Yes you can enter at any time just show your resort ID and have park pass ready and your set.

We closed MGM the other night then went over to MK people were pouring out as we were going in they stopped some other who tried to get in without resort keys.

I also noticed many CM's were checking for bands before letting you on the rides.
