How late can we check in without losing the room?

So we are driving from Ohio on the 21st (straight-through), and that will get us into Orlando about 4 AM. We originally thought we wouldn't get in until about 12 hours later. In any event, now we think we want a place to stay so we have a definite place for an afternoon nap/in case some of us don't want to go to the park that day (yup - two of us for sure are hitting MK that day!).

If we call All Star Movies and add a night to our reservation on the 21st and explain we won't be in until 4 or 5 AM, will they hold the room for us? We don't want to have to hang out in the lobby until the parks open, or - worse yet - have no place to crash for the *MUCH NEEDED* afternoon nap we plan to take.

I'd appreciate thoughts/information anyone has on this. Thanks!

You can call if it makes you feel better, but it's totally unnecessary. Your WDW resort reservation is good until 6:00 a.m. the following day. You have already paid a one-night's deposit (or for your entire stay, if it's a package), and you room will NOT be given away until after 5:59 a.m.

They have a policy on keeping your room till the next morning for the reason of late or delayed flights. There is an allowance you may want to call CRO to see exactly what the time period is.

You may want to just stop on the drive down. Even if you only sleep 6 hours on the road you will be much less tired when you arrive. JMHO

Though I sure they would have your room. I know that even arriving at 4am after the drive I would crash and have a hard time getting up to go to the parks.

We checked into the POP at 3 am once but I called a few times to let them know we were going to be very late

I was told it was mine for the night regardless of check in... I am landing at midnight so I wanted to make sure.

When we stayed at POR in January, we checked in at 11:59 PM... They told me happy b-day when it got midnight!!! I would just have them add it in the notes that I was going to be late. It will all be good.

Thanks everyone.

dzorn, I appreciate the advice, but don't be offended that we aren't taking it. ;) We don't want to stop on the way. Maybe we should, but we really need the vacation and want to get there asap. It'll be Florida or bust in our minds! :)
