How late can I show up for my ADR without them turning me away? Just curious in case I am running late. Unfortunately there is no one to call to say I am running 5-10 mins late like our local restaurants.
The standard Disney response would be you need to arrive 10-15 minutes early.
I would think if your late by a few minutes, it'll be no problem. However, it'll depend on how busy the restaurant is. If it is during free dining, get there on time!
we were running late to Epcot one day (we waited on a bus for over an hour-but that is different story) well, I called and they said it was ok. we were only 15 minutes late... when we got there they said a different story and that they had given the table away. This was for the princess meal in Norway. My DD was CRUSHED!!! I was able to get a dinner table however....but it did throw our plans for the day way off!!!
We got to CRT an hour late because I was really sick that morning. We didn't even know if they would take us, but they had our table ready and waiting. It was very nice of them. However, I wouldn't recommend it. It happened to be extreme circumstances that day. Very nice CM's!
No, there is no standard. It depends on the restaurant management and how busy they are. If they are completely booked and you show up late, then your table is gone.
To be safe, be on time! Sometimes when you are late for reasons not your own, it is possible to still lose your table. Plan ahead to be there 10-15 minutes early and leave plenty of time for mishaps and you in most cases should be fine.
According to Boma, they will hold the reservation for 15 minutes past the time you made it for. If you show up after that, you go into the standby queue. I do not know if this applies to any restaurant other than Boma.

Ther is someone to call - just go to guest services, or your room phone, or a resort house phone, and ask to be connected to that particular restaurant and tell them you are running late, apologise, and ask for them to please hold your table.

We were very late on Christmas day for Whispering Canyon Cafe... We totally forgot what day it was and misjudged the line of vehicles going into the Magic Kingdom! They still had no problem getting us in (thank goodness!).
But if you're running late, how do you have time to go to guest services? Aren't you hurrying to get to your ADR? And what if (like us) you're not in your room?
