How late can i add DDP?

How close to your trip time can you decide to add DDP to your reservation?

You have to add the DDP at least 72 hours before you check in. You can NOT add it at check in.

I called and asked this question last night and they told me 5-6 days but we know that you ask 10 CMs the same question you are bound to get everal different answers!
