How late can I add a person if I use the FD pin?

We have booked a trip for June 22-30th using the FD pin. My BF wants to go but cannot commit until about 3 weeks before due to his work. Can I still add him that close to our travel dates ? I know without a discount it can be done with no probelm but once the code expires can my ressie still be modified?
We both called and asked and each got different answers. One CM said that we could not add or delete a person once the code expired and another one said we could add but it would cost $50. I knew the fine folks on disBoards would know the true answer....
 
I actually added someone for a 2 nights after I checked in 2 years ago without any problem. It was just for sleeping in the room, we purchased her tickets separately and she wasnt under our dining package either cause she was only there for 2 nights.
 
Recently I was told by a Guest Services CM that a person can be added to a Resort Dining package (that is if the person is to be included in the Dining portion. If just added to the room then that can be done at anytime after arrival) up to 3 days prior to arrival. I would assume that would be the same with any discounted package.

When you call to add him to the package, if the CM gives you trouble, then ask to speak with Guest Services. In the past discount packages can be modified but normally a Guest Services CM must do it. I have had times where the front line CM would take the information talk with Guest Services herself and then come back to me with the reservation changed. If the front line CM gives you trouble about being transferred to a Guest Services CM nicely insist on being transferred or call back.

Regarding the change fee, unless this has recently been changed, you will only be accessed a change fee if you downgrade your package 45 days or less before arrival. Before 45 days and upgrading your package after 45 days out (adding people is considered upgrading because your total cost will go up) there is no change fee.
 
I just called to add 2 more people to our free dining package. The CM said I could not add them to the free dining package.
 

He said the dining pin was expired.

I had also called earlier about upgrading to POFQ and was told NO.
I called back and the next CM said Yes.

I think I will call again about adding 2 people and 1 more room.

So I guess as long as the pin has not expired, you would have been able to add the additional ppl. :confused3

I have the same pin as you.. so many answers and none of them are the same! Ack!
 
I have the same issue with DH and have been advised that whilst the FD pin is valid he can be added with FD. If I add him to the booking after the PIN expires, I have to pay the package rate for him. If I change the booking within the date limitation (45 days?) you also have to pay the change fee.
 
Unless things have changed...

For a discount code that has expired you can modify the reservation (ie change resort). But the front line CM (the first CM you encounter when calling) can not do this. It must be done by a Guest Services CM. If the resort and room category is available then the Guest Services CM can make the change. Call back tell them you understand that a guest services cm must make this change and ask to speak with guest services.

I would not imagine there would be a difference with a pin code discount. So I would call again and ask for a Guest Services CM

You can upgrade if guest services shows it as available in their system.

You can add guests to an existing FD reservation IF the entire party meets the occupancy rules of the current reservation, ie; they fit in your room.

You cannot add on more rooms after a promo is over.
 
DH and I had a pkg with free dining. About 3 weeks before we left my DD decided to join us. The free dining had expired and I called and asked. I was told that my DD would have to add the same tickets we had. Since we were staying at OKW (not on points) there was no charge for the 3rd adult. I paid for her ticket and she was also given free dining. There was no hassle or problems with doing this. I'd call again.

I just got off the phone with a CM and she would not let me add a 2nd room for the two new people. She said they can't have my free dining code because it is expired.

DD stayed in the same room (we had a one bedroom unit) and I was told when I called that everyone had to be on the same plan so I would have to add a ticket on for my daughter. She also said that she would get the free dining.

I think that because you are trying to add a second room you aren't going to get the free dining because it expired.
