How jarring is Star Tours at Hollywood Studio?

I think it is a rough ride. I also have problems with Space Mountain (way too jerky for my neck). But I think Soarin' is absolutely fine!

I had to hold onto the back of my neck during SM for the whole ride.

I have a bad back, and manage Star Tours with no problem. Soarin' is absolutely smooth. Only ride I have ever regretted in Disney was the Safari one year. I don't know why, but it was particularly hard on my back one time. I nearly couldn't get off the bus at the end of the ride, I was in so much pain. Has never bothered me since, never bothered me before, odd.

It's rough and the back row was the worst because my feet couldn't touch the ground (I'm 5 foot 4) but in the other rows they could and having my feet firmly planted on the ground made a huge difference.
I'm so happy to find someone else mention this about the back row. People look at me like I'm crazy when I try to explain why I won't do the back row of Star Tours. I'm 5'0" and the one time I rode on the back row, it was awful. Painful. All because I couldn't put my feet flat on the floor (or on the floor at all) and brace myself properly. I now ask to wait for another grouping when the only place left is on the back row. Makes a world of difference...though it's still a jerky ride to me no matter where I sit.

I have this booked for my DD4 who is 40"....should I pick something else? If so...I have Toy Story and the Frozen sing along. What would you recommend?

soarin' is fine, smooth and fun.

I don't get motion sick, can do space mountain etc. Star Tours however is jerky and makes me ill. I avoid it.

I'm not sure how they tier things, but the great movie ride is awesome, or muppet vision 3D.
