How's the food/atmosphere/etc.? Especially the bbq, my boyfriend's big on pulled pork and baked beans!

Thanks

This is a loaded topic- you'll find some who love it and some (like me) who said that once was enough!

I'd heard all sorts of wonderful things about it- and we were a party of 8. First they forgot to seat us, and then they tried to cram the 8 of us onto a 4 top with 2 chairs on each side of the table.

We refused that and had to wait for another 20 minutes while they found us a table that would fit our party. Food order was messed up- drinks never got refilled; server was overseated and had no help. It wasn't a good time.

We won't go back. However, there are plenty of folks who have a great time there- and I can say that the kids enjoyed passing the ketchup.

HTH!!

So sounds like the problem was more with the service... there would only be 2 of us, so maybe I wouldn't have the same issues. Sorry it happened to you though!

Was the food any good?

I'm afraid I am in the "not going back group". This use to be a MUST DO for us. The last 2 years have been one disappointment after another. Our last trip we were seated in the back, the far, far back of the resturant. We could hear everyone in the main dining room having fun. No refills on drinks, longer than usual waits for refills on the skillet. There was 4 of us eating from it, we ran out of everything and it took forever to get anything. It was by far the worst dining experience of our trip.

We aren't going back this year, and to be honest I won't miss it. On a brighter note, the milkshakes are yummy!

I have eaten here several times and LOVED it. The food is really good and so was the service. Also, the atmosphere is fun. I would definitely go!

I ended up being disappointed when we ate there last year. I had read reviews about how fun and crazy the servers were. Our server was very shy. It was evident that she did not feel comfortable doing the crazy antics. She hardly even came to the table to check on us. I asked for ketchup and she left and came back with one bottle of ketchup. The server at the tables next to us was completely hilarious. Those people were having a heck of a time. I was so jealous.

I thought the BBQ skillet was fantastic! It was a large amount of food.

I will definitely give it another try because I really enjoyed the food. The potential for a whole lot of fun is there. It just really depends on your server.

WCC is a favorite of ours, my husband absolutely loves it.

The food is always very good when we have eaten there. He gets the bbq skillet and I usually get the ribeye. Very very good.

The atmosphere is cute, loud and while it isn't really my cup of tea, my husband loves it. So I like it because it makes him smile to mess with the servers. lol

As PP said, you will hear good and bad about this place as with any other place at WDW. My advice is, if the menu appeals to you go, it is the only way you will know.

We absolutely love it. I almost cancelled it because I thought the hijinks might be s little much for DH. We loved the food and atmosphere so much I called and was able to get back in on our last nite there and my DH was thrilled. He wanted me to book it 4 times on our upcoming trip but settled for 2. Our servers were excellent both times we were there. We were in the back room the first time (but server made sure we were included in everything that occured in main room) and the main room the second time. Food was excellent we got the skillet and the ribs were to die for and OMG I can't wait till December to get a piece of the smores cheesecake.

it is SO loud here. We went once and all left with pounding headaches. We were there at dinner - food was 'eh'. Environment, so not for me!

Great pulled pork. We always get the Canyon Skillet because we really like everything in it. It's a fun place to eat. It can get a little loud but not obnoxious like Chuck E Cheese or anything.

hmmm, I thought the service was great, the whole place is a lot of fun and my boys LOVE it here, my only problem is the food!
first time I tried it I loved that skillet, second visit it made me feel queasy, third visit I said I would never go back and that was a breakfast visit.
so my boys are begging me to make an ADR but I know I can't eat there any more

I think when we went there... I was expecting too much. I had heard that it was a "must do"... so we did;)

We did not love to food at all, in fact, I think it was our least favorite meal as far as the food went (and we were on the DDP... so we ate at a sit down restaurant for every meal). The atmosphere was nice, again, I think I had expected more. We did ask for ketchup (really wanting some) and all of the bottles appeared and then disappreared withing about a minute, and we liturally didn't get a chance to grab one bottle.

Also, as previous posters mentioned, we had a ADR, but it was WAY later byt he time we got seated, I think we waited about 45 minutes past our ADR. The longest one while at Disney.

Basically, thumbs down for the food.... cute theme... but by the time we got over to the resort...finally got seated... ate.... it was just wayyyy too much time spent on a meal we did not like.

Some people LOVE the restaurant, however... so I wish you luck in making your decision!! Have fun!

You don't have to get the skillet. Maybe there is something on the menu that you might like. When we first started going to WC, you could only get the skillet. Check out the menu here in the dining section.

it's been on our "must do" list for years, but never managed to get there... something always came up... we finally got there in august '10 and had a blast! we were a party of ten, they split us 5/5 but put us right next to one another... the servers were awesome and made each kid feel special (one big soda... one straws... one ketchup... etc) and we all really enjoyed the food... most got skillet... dd15 got pasta (and that was okay too)

we would definitely go back! :)

We've gone 2 times and had a fun time. The food is nothing special. If you like BBQ it's edible. I think it's better to go with a group. The CM's have more fun with bigger groups. I've read that couples (just 2 people) are usually disappointed because CM's didn't have fun with them.

Like the restaurant, don't like the food. If they improve the food, we would go back, but the food was not very tasty on any of our visits.

We have eaten there 3 times and have always had fun and no complaints on the food. DH usually gets the skillet and always likes it and I get the pasta with chicken and that has always been good. they also have a nice wine list.

We have been there the last 3 years in a row and he always wants to go back.

We really enjoy it. We like to eat there on xmas day. The have a holiday platter which is great. We usually request the quiet back room which is very cozy. Give it a try.

If your BF is into food like pulled pork and baked beans, then WCC is a great place to go! I know there's a lot of mixed reviews, but we really do like it. While most of us get the skillet, there are other choices on the menu that are good as well.
